Last ride I had I determined my upper limits temp wise bout 81  82 F. The overnight temps here are mid to high 70s. For the next 7 to 10 days at least the noon temps WILL Be mid 90s with high humidity here.  Lips Sealed The heat indexes will be the upper end of the 90s to some areas in the one hundred teens.  Undecided Sooooooo NO NOT ridin in this heat humidity sweat box thingy that are goin on.  crazy2 RIDE SAFE.

I took a drive in the Miata with the top down.  It wasn't bad, in fact it was nice, no protective clothes , no boots,or helmet to wear. Wind felt good.  I don't like cold but hot isn't bad for me.

If it gets too hot, the top goes up and the AC goes on.  For me, I made a good choice, in the wind still but I can change that.  Much better for me over a trike, or a chair rig.

Yup, yesterday it was mid to upper 90°s with humidity index in the 70s at 6pm. I didn't let that stop me from riding almost 2 miles (each way) to have a banana split for dinner  Roll Eyes

Not so much the heat here, but the freaking wind is a killer.  We've been getting some major gusts and tree toppling microbursts around here the last couple/few weeks.  Bad out today too.  I'm waiting on the Colorado Springs fellas to get here as I type, I fear them fellas done been blowed off the road!   Shocked

Yup, just got back in to NM early afternoon yesterday coming from Charleston. Whew!

Early a.m. departs with noon & after miserable for me at least. Low to upper 90's.

Had about an hour of steady, heavy downpour with low to no visibility from Crossville TN to Nashville. The term waterboard came to mind. I did eventually pull over at one point when I really couldn't see or be seen. I will give my 1/2 helmet some credit, much better at handling the rain than no helmet.

Mornings were great though until about say 11:00 - 11:30.

Stopped in Shamrock TX for the night Thursday. Indoor pool, the inside air was thick and warm, the water however was cool and delightful.

Wink I'm ok with the heat as long as I'm moving, better than cold for me. I left early this AM 6:30, rode over to Crestview to have a terrific breakfast with Jeff and Judy. We said bye and I went on a great ride towards Defuniak Springs on Hwy 90. Then up Hwy 331 to SR2A to SR2 towards Laural Hill. Just north of Crestview just south of the AL line. Great 2 lane ride out in the country. I got back to Milton at 10:45. The sun was getting warm and going west towards home it was pretty much at my back.  coolsmiley

finally got Stan's Valk registered and will ride it home from Orangeburg tomorrow so I can get it inspected.

Route as yet undetermined but wont be more than 100 or so miles as  the pool beckons  The water was 82 degrees when I got out a few minutes ago.   Perfect for falling asleep in the chair float while listening to a ball game.

Oh yeah I ride in heat but I prefer the cold or cool weather and low humdididty  Give me a crisp clear 40 degree December day over a hot humid July one.

Well I just came in from mowing, it was too wet this morning, and I’m only 2/3rds done started getting a headache and was swearing too much. Don’t know what the outside temp or humidity is but enough to send me inside until dusk. Just not as tough as some of you guys.

I rode a bit yesterday, only in the mid 90's. Today I had honey doo items that took the two of us to Milwaukee, Kenosha and a few places in between. She was along so we rode in her cage, lack of A.C. not an option. I did spot a black IS on 52nd St and a red and white standard on 60th St in Kenosha this afternoon. That would be the most Big Girls I've seen in one day that aren't mine in some time.

Yes, mid 90s here today with heat index over 100.  Was going to start out at 9am but my riding companions overslept and did not show up till almost 11.  I got in about 150 miles by the time I got back home.  I was ready to get out of the heat.

It was a good trial run for the water pack I just bought.  Filled that sucker with 3 quarts of ice and water before I started out.  It kept my back cool, had water at my fingertips, and still had ice in it when I got back home after about 3 hours.

Went for a short 290 miler yesterday.  Left out about 0830, temps in the low 50's, slight breeze, no humidify.  Had to start stripping off extra clothes after the first 70's miles.  had an enjoyable bacon/cheese burger around noon.  Got home by 2:30 with temps just starting to go over the 84 degree mark.  Enjoyable ride, not much traffic, no critters trying to commit suicide by running out in front of me I the timber portions.

It will be early starts with being done by 2:00 for the rest of the summer.

Funny you should ask. Judy wanted to try and rest while I was at church. So what did I do?  Forgot that church started early for the 4th of July. So I got to church as it was ending. Rugh rogh. So I decided to ride all the roads on the outskirts of town that may have a curve on it.  Took a while but Judy got her rest and I got in 50 or so miles. It's only 90 degrees or so, felt good as long as you are moving.

My AC was out 3 weekends ago but it wasn’t quite this humid. Was happy to have a finished basement as it’s always pretty cool.

Did the fireworks go off as planned for the weekend?

After church today came home changed caught a short nap and then went to lunch. I came out of the resturant and thought about where to go, home or out and about. Well as 95 S came up the bike just seemed to turn by itself and south we went. Took a ride down to Miami Beach light traffic till down on the beach then packed. The cruise ships were at dock and riding across the water from them you realize how big they are. Down on Miami beach it was the usual show, lets just say clothing is almost optional. Crazies and such are always entertaining and stopping in traffic never gets boring since there is always enough to look at.

Once I was headed north by the beach I am so glad the Valk handles quickly since I was in and out of traffic and my head was on a stick rotating back and forth between the cars and the sights.

I did happen upon a kid on a motorcycle that was a blast. Good kid small bike but stuck with me in traffic and at the stops we would talk. Born and raised in Miami I really liked the kid and we rode till we came to 95 and went our ways.

Good ride all in all hot, sunny, thank God there was a breeze on the bridge opening and all in all a great ride.

Nick enjoyed meeting the group, thanks again for inviting the likes of us two to join your table.

I got in just under 5,000 miles round trip. The return trip took 3.5 days travel with a max of 485 and a minimum of just over 400. Hip joints were aching and the heat was getting to me. I tried limiting the day to 2:30 - 3:30pm cut off. A far cry from the full day 1,000 mile trips to So Cal.

At 104 degrees, I just get the shirt wet and freeze for the first 10 miles then its good for 50.
I'm a cold coward, and love the heat.
