Lesa and I were over in Inverness yesterday....pretty much all day.
After we got our stuff done we were both hungry, big time hungry.
We went up to Stumpknockers and had dinner. Great food and sassy waitress.
Great time. Oh....we went in a cage.

I've heard of all kinds of knockers, but never stump knockers.   Grin

In a swamp environment, one must always take care not to rip out one's boat bottom or outboard or power drive on submerged stumps.

Just a guess.

I have been there several times also. Had a great club sandwich a couple times and a great Reuben another. Jess, the fish on the cover of the menu in Pappy's hand  is a Stumpknocker, just fyi.

Stumpknocker is indeed a nickname for a fish in the bream family. These guys are known to hang around the stumps and stick-ups in freshwater and can be heard hitting the stumps as they feed off of them...hence the name!
