As some of you already know, I have been working on this project for some time now ( like 3 months time ) a lot more time than I originally thought it would take and it drove me "NUTS" cause I like to jump on things and get them done, life just kept getting on the way and had to find time to work on it I was not looking for a project but when a neglected Attic Rat motor modified bike came along that could be had for the right price, I just could not pass it up. So, a complete tear down for a fresh start with a bare frame and a chance to get motor blacked out, I like black motors Basically, I changed an Interstate to a Standard, I had 95% of the parts I needed in my parts stash including the wire harness and let me tell you, there are a lot of connectors that are different from the IS to a Standard and it is not as simple as it may seem. Both fenders were dented so I cut them short but was not happy with the looks of it so decided to go the VTX front fender and spent a lot of time searching for a rear fender that had the needed measurements, found a swing arm mounted fender Some of the other add ons are a 4* triple tree, IS tank, Kellerman turn signals, Kuryakyn side mounted plate, Custom Dynamics tail light, 14" ape bars. I did cut a corner as I was getting too anxious to get it done so decided for not doing the handlebars internal wiring until a later date. I am still not done in the paint department, was thinking of some sort of pin striping (red, silver) and/or possibly a catchy name in place of the tank badge, so if you have any suggestions, I am all ears.
So far I have done local rides and all is Ok, I really like the feel of the bike, completely different from the other Valks and super light and quick Here are some of the pics of the process Tried the short rear fender with adapted VTX fender rails Blacking out motor

Wow Jack, that is a really nice job, and a nice bike (and post). Almost a military look (with the olive drab on black). That bike looks so smoothly subdued everywhere, I'd be real careful adding much of anything (and nothing bright). Whatever it is, it will stick out (and draw the eye right to it) (so choose wisely). Maybe some minimalist pinstripe, but I wouldn't add any color other than a subdued almost-match to the existing dark tones. And a satin (not gloss). EDIT: Thinking of this further, IF you do a subdued pinstripe, I think a good color choice would be FDE (Flat Dark Earth). After a fashion of this color scheme. (only in flat or satin) The only other thing that comes to mind is some of the WWII aircraft nose art for the tank (although most of that was skimpy or no clothing gals, and probably not a good choice). Or A10 warthog teeth (which has been done before, and pretty bright, but could be done subdued). https://www.google.com/search?q=WWII+aircraft+nose+art&client=firefox-b&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiVjvyDuozcAhVOON8KHXFNCzsQ_AUICigB&biw=1424&bih=652 Or Norse Valkyrie themed. (but it costs more money for this than striping) https://www.google.com/search?q=norse+valkyrie&client=firefox-b&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj3g-v1uIzcAhWwTN8KHesvADoQ_AUICigB&biw=1424&bih=652#imgdii=hU9Zzp1OFthWFM:&imgrc=87tq2_WiWEQ1hM:Or a version of the dodge super bee. Here's one any wife would love.

Lookin' GOOD, Jack. If I ever get money enough to buy/have built another Valkyrie, it will have NO bling on it anywhere. I don't want all of my bikes that way, but I would like ONE.

Always impressed with your work Jack. What's the seat from ?, is there more rake to the front end ? For a tank decal how about "ATTACK" or "ATTIC ATTACK", maybe "BLACK ATTACK". Do you plan to go dark side after you tear that tire up ?

This is probably the biggest bike decal, pinstripe, logo, yada site on the web. Yeah, it has Harley in it's name, and a lot of Harley stuff, but a ton of other stuff too. This is not so you can buy something of theirs, it's just to look at to get ideas (like my other links above). http://www.purpleharley.com/

Thanks for all the props guys, not many people know or understand Valkyries like we do. Thank you all for the suggestions, links and names, I will definitely look into each one of them and hope to come up with the right one. Just to answer a few questions. The seat is a Harley seat, project delayed at least 15 days because I could not find a seat that would look right, looked and looked and even tried a couple of seats with no success. I drove past one of our local bike shops and decided it was a long shot but decided to walk in and ask, they had a few used seats and this one was one of them. I like the fit and I was even able to make some brackets that will make it fit using the seat lock. As far as MT and CT, I plan on going through this MT and then do a search for a CT that has a rounder edge and give that a try. Front end is a 4* rake, good eye Sixlow To answer Jerry's question about my wife, she is still not back from taking care of her mother but she knows about my weakness and asked me how the project was coming along. She is the best and very supportive wife Turn signals are german made by Kellermann, not cheap but I am very pleased with them. Thanks for pointing me in that direction Jerry

Very nice work, Jack. And in just 3 months time! I'm very impressed. Thanks for sharing the pictures. I was just thinking about it the other day and wondered what it was going to look like. Now I know. I'm sure you will come up with a great name whether you put anything on the tank or not. As for me, being fond of bright red, I still love your red Valk. Take care, Jack.

I've been trying to think of a name and came up with "Jax Toy". However, that may be better on a license plate than on the tank. Especially, if you ever sell it. Heaven forbid. Unless you happen to sell it to someone named Jack. Just my 2 cents worth.

Jack, when you paint everything black, what brand and kind paint do you use? Do you use a different hi temp paint on the engine? Also, do you do anything special to the chrome pieces before you paint them?

Engine: I use the high heat engine rattle can paint from auto parts, this is my 5th engine and have had great results lasting for years with no issues, just have to prep by cleaning it really good before applying paint. Use whatever sheen you like. https://www.autozone.com/paint-and-body/engine-paint/vht-paints-satin-black-high-temperature-engine-enamel/465328_0_0 store Fenders, tank and side covers: took them to a body shop. Metal parts: powder coated Plastic chrome: just cleaned with denatured alcohol and used the flexidip stuff from Home Depot, I have had great results with it, lasting a long time without even having to retouch, have some parts like that on the other bikes. Get the Rust-oleum stuff, better than other brands. Calipers: Caliper rattle can from out parts store.
