Chris; This wasn't a post asking for opinions on repair options. It was to teach how to test and repair the stock petcock.

I like that guy. Helped me fix a intermittent blinker switch on my 1100.

Thanks for the post!, I'll try and repair mine. I am leaking out of that little drain hole while sitting motor off.
Not sure why that hole is there though but here's what I got.

Here dried wiped off the petcock

About 30 seconds later  Angry

I guess this is the correct part --#5 for $28.84 (I thought I would be buying a kit for inside but
looks like an assembled part - may be better than a kit (just four screws and im done?)

To my surprise the kit is pre assembled as it shows in the parts digram!! Smiley

The eBay part must be fake?? and should not come in pieces as shown prior.

This is what I purchased at the Honda shop today.

A couple of my OEM kits have been preassembled and a couple have not.

Go figure.

YMMV. Mine's about 27MPG when I keep my right hand in it.  uglystupid2

That little hole is the weep hole... if something goes wrong with the
petcock, gas can use the hole as an escape route. If the hole was plugged,
gas could run down the vacuum line, and bad things could happen...
this feller "fixed" the leak, but not the petcock...

The very best thing about YouTube videos is I can see things apart before I take my bike apart. And sometimes they warn about serious gotchas. For example on a valve adjustment video for my KLR I'm warned to stuff a rag into the "abyss of deep despair" BEFORE I drop a 10mm bolt into the crankcase via the cam chain tunnel. But back on subject. I'm rebuilding my 97 Bumblebee from the frame up due to 10 years deferred maintenance. Today I removed the petcock and it looked new, including the screen. I'll probably rebuild it and call it good. Likewise the inside of the carbs look new. 21 years and 50,000 miles. Great machine this Valkryrie.

Youtube taught me how to fix my refrigerator. I just did what it said, I didn't
really understand what I was doing. I told google what was wrong with my
fridge (water puddling in the floor of it) and what kind of fridge I had. Google
sent me to youtube where the guy said "order one of these things". I'm not sure
what the thing is, it bolted onto the back of the fridge, fixed it right up. The thing
I bought looked like the Ultimate Nullifier, so that's how I remember it.

It is also a vent so that when vacuum pulls the vacuum diaphragm to one side, air can enter the space on the other side of the diaphragm.

I'd rather they preassemble it for me.  It's tough to get the nipples on the diaphragms inserted into the ends of the metal spacer without tearing the diaphragms.
