I've seen a few folks thanking me for The Shiloh Ride-In when in fact it was Crazyhorse ( Mac ) that put in the leg work. He found the motel and made arrangements picked the route to and from Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park about all I did was have a good time  Wink  .I really enjoyed the ride and the weather was nothing but perfect for motorcycling. I had someone ask me why I post and reply to my own thread its like this I have a few ridin' buddy's that are still on dial-up ( no other ISP available ) and they claim the picture's will load for them if I keep each post down to a couple pic's .Picture below is Crazyhorse gettin' ready to ride ...You got that Standard looking good Mac .

We ate at the famous Loveless Cafe just before we got on the Natchez Trace .

Some fall colors still on The Trace but this picture would'nt prove it . Traffic was lite we rolled right on through with no problems the Nashville end of The Natchez Trace is my favorite with nice twisties and awesome sweepers.Keep a eye out cause we plan to do the entire 444 miles of The Natchez Trace in 2010.

If anyone got a good picture of the Tennessee Monument a copy e-mailed to me would be appreciated as you can see mine is'nt that good. Here's a sad fact about Shiloh the state of Tennessee did'nt have a monument in its own park until 2005 and only thanks to the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Sons of Confederate Veterans.Several states still have not placed a monument including Mississippi, Georgia and Florida. The Tennessee Memorial Monument is the first large one in 88 years to be placed in the park.

I did get this shot of it with my bike that turned out alright.

After we split off from Mac , Paul and I rode backroads damn near all the way home out of Kentucky and west Tennessee. I took Paul over to one of the many nuclear plants that the company I work for started in the 70's and never finished . Over 2 billion dollars stands here today and will never be finshed. Picture taken inside one of the cooling towers that was finished but stands today as nothing more than a hazard to airplanes as you can see only the base for unit # 2 was started before work stopped. I did a video inside with the Cobra's screamin' inside this tower it sounded awesome... I'll figure out later how to post a video and share it then.

Pics look great, wish I could've gone. Joe, got any idea when that Trace ride might happen? I've been wanting to do that for awhile
now. I've ridden the southern part, from Jackson Ms. on to Natchez, a few times, but never any other part. I really want to see that bridge up close too.

Hey Joe ... keep me in mind for The Natchez Trace ride .... I rode a small part back in 2007 and have often thought about riding the whole thing.

It's well over 600 miles to Natchez , Mississippi from my house a good day ride for me so folks like you " may " need a couple days just to get there on friday evening Sept.3 2010....Hope you make it Thom  cooldude

Outstanding....We still need to work out the details for " The Run For The Sun " to Key West the last week in April 2010. Plenty of time to get that done between now and then. It will be great having you join us Thom you might check with Dave Weaver ( Colts ) for the Trace Ride he claimed he'd love to ride the entire 444 miles when we hit some of it on the Shiloh ride last weekend...Maybe y'all could hook up and ride together if coming through Knoxville is doable we'll join you from here....Bring It...LET'S RIDE  Smiley

I've got the Natchez Trace ride on my calendar.

I've got a Key West trip scheduled for middle of January.  I'll give you the skinny on what I learn from my trip to help you with your April trip.

Only real sticking point with "The Run For The Sun" will be getting rooms in Key West ... they can get pricey. Other items would be who is going (Werner, Duffy, Joe, Thom, ??) so we know how many rooms are needed and where everyone meets up.

For the Natchez Trace I am leaning towards going through Memphis but nothing has been carved into stone and  Dave & I can ride back north together from Nashville.
