I've used this half cover for years on my two interstates. It fits down better on the permenent supervalk, but OK on the trunk bike too. It covers the top of the bike only from sun and rain and tourists putting their kids on the bike for a picture, and prying eyes in motel parking lots. It folds up to softball size so plenty small in the bags. To me, the most important function is to keep hours long downpours from soaking down through the top of the bike (seat, electicals, electronics). No metal hooks to scratch, just two elastic straps to run to the floorboards.
It's only water resistant (not proof), but rain runs off, and it dries out very quickly.
The premium ones are over twice the price ($80), and black (to absorb heat), and will probably last longer, but my plain silver one is over 10yo and in good shape (but only used on trips, not daily). Bet the premium is twice the size rolled up.
