Topic's been 'covered' before, maybe some updates?
Thinking I want to get a cover for the I/S, as I park it in the parking lot while I'm at work, and would like UV protection plus something for those occasional rainstorms passing by.
Comparing Nelson-Rigg vs Dowco (I know there are many others).
Currently have Nelson-Rigg Falcon Defender for my other bike, and I like the fact it has a lifetime warranty, which I've used.
Thinking I might like a half-cover for ease of use and compactness.  The Dowco Premium "looks" much nicer than the N-R, and has a 2-yr warranty vs the 1-yr N-R.  But the Dowco 'Premium' half cover is high dollar, might just as well get another N-R full cover with lifetime warranty!
Anyone have the Dowco premium half cover (the $75-ish one) that can compare it to others you might've had?

I have a Dowco Premium full cover and it's great. Recommended.  Never tried the half, but it has to be the same quality.

I just ordered the Nelson-Rigg UV2000 half cover which will just be for longer trips. I have a garage and full nelson rigg cover for home.

I've used this half cover for years on my two interstates.  It fits down better on the permenent supervalk, but OK on the trunk bike too.  It covers the top of the bike only from sun and rain and tourists putting their kids on the bike for a picture, and prying eyes in motel parking lots.  It folds up to softball size so plenty small in the bags.  To me, the most important function is to keep hours long downpours from soaking down through the top of the bike (seat, electicals, electronics).  No metal hooks to scratch, just two elastic straps to run to the floorboards.

It's only water resistant (not proof), but rain runs off, and it dries out very quickly.

The premium ones are over twice the price ($80), and black (to absorb heat), and will probably last longer, but my plain silver one is over 10yo and in good shape (but only used on trips, not daily).  Bet the premium is twice the size rolled up.
