I'm finally going to replace my old battery charger. It has cooked a couple of batteries  tickedoff

The techno side of me is drooling at the high dollar gadgets, but my wallet is saying why would you need anything more than this?

I have a battery tender plus. but want a full blown charger also.

Jeff, this is what I bought last week for the shop.  We are hard on chargers for some damn reason or another.

Harbor Freight.

Northern Tools should have something also.

I've got two 'BatteryMinders', that I have used for a few years.

http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200332201_200332201

Won't over charge the batteries, won't 'cook' them.  You can make your own harness to charge up to 4 batteries at once.  I did that, and keep the 4Wheelers in the trailer, all winter, hooked up and ready to go (three of them).  Made a 2 battery harness with the other, and keep it on the Valk, and my boat battery.

They really work, and the price is right too.

Price is right too plus a permenant connector to your battery so you do not have to take the seat off to get to the battery.

best of luck

Jeff...My dad has this exact one...got it at Wal-Mart.  It works fine and has a built in float/maintenance mode like the battery tender.  However, the unit has a built-in fan that runs all the time.  So we do not use it for maintenance...just charging when his bike sits too long (like it usually does) and the battery runs down.

+ 1 on the BatteryMinders. I've been using two of them for a few years. One is an "on-board" unit for my diesel truck, I want those two big batteries to last as long as possible. So far so good. My original Yuasa is still going strong on my '98 Standard.
