I was going to use SH45 but the base was too humongous to leave on the tiny Honda luggage rack.

Am thinking about one of the smaller cases. The 26,29,33,and 34 appear to use the same base but I cannot find any info on their size. If any one has an idea of the base dimensions I would appreciate a word.

I only want the top case for a backrest for my wife, otherwise it will be off the bike. But the base will remain.

The alternative is that uber expensive and crappy looking Honda sissy bar and pad.

I have a large GIVI top case and a smaller one. Both fit onto the same
adapter that is installed on my OEM "rear carrier". I use them for travel
and they're gone otherwise. They both have little "backrest pad" options,
though I haven't installed them, my wife prefers the 1500...

That is a beautiful bike and one of my inspirations as I lurked here pre-purchase.

I like the Corbin bags, RDL, small windshield, and detachable top case. I am curious what it looks like without the case on. I will take another look at the Givi's.

Oh, since I am dreaming/planning lets do some torque loopz too!

Thanks  Smiley ... here's one with the GIVI off, but the adapter is still on there..

The handlebars and the seat make it ridable... there's Traxxion suspension
lurking in there too  cooldude

Hey thanks for the pic Mike. I saw one of your bike sans top case in another thread, but this picture gives me a much better idea what I will be looking at.

I wish there was a way to get a passenger backrest ala Corbin without using Honda's sissy bar. And without using the Corbin seat. Hmmm (puts thinking cap back on).

Not that elegant - a scooter rider scolded me once ! 2funny  but handy and there's enough room for the passenger.

Ha ha L I have to agree with "not that elegant". But I only want it on there when the wife rides with me so I don't care then, I just don't want her to fall off and the extra storage is nice.

I, at 56 years old, am still trying to look elegant when the top case is removed which would be 95% of the time.

So far I am not crazy about the permanent sissy bar or the residual Shad/Givi mounting plate (left on after the top case is removed).

Still thinking...

You gotta paint the side cover red or white

Kidd's right. But, how about bringing the white down into all the recessed areas and paint the raised portions (of the side panels) red?

No no no !  Grin

I respect the job some guys do on their Valk, like this one :

but that's not for me. The Valk is so original in itself, I don't want it to be kind of "overdressed" or too flashy like this HD parked near mine yesterday ( How dare you ?!  2funny)

the residual Shad/Givi mounting plate

The Givi mounting plate goes on and off real easy, but the OEM
"rear carrier" would still be there... a good bender-of-metal could
make a solo bar like we have on our 1500's and take off the
rear carrier instead of the mounting place, I think that would be
cool...

That's a thought. A sort of version of the HD detachable stuff.
