Case in Point.

I was a little miffed by Willow's 'who's the oldest' post yesterday.  I'm no longer eligible for the possibly oldest Valk rider, and it's true, I now ride the Nighthawk..  Somehow, I adopted a sh---y attitude about this yesterday.

And Then, last night, out of the blue, my sons Mad6Gun (Mark)  and Psychotic Bovine (Chris) presented me with this wonderful model from Danbury Mint. It's a 1949 Olds Rocket 88.   They both knew that I have a fond memory of that car.  My wife and I drove down to the Smokies on our honeymoon in that car. Now the wife is gone and the car is long gone but this beautiful scale model of that car will remind me of good times and the wonderful life that I've had.

Four wonderful kids, 46 years of good married life, a good job, a good retirement, and then a cap on it all, presentation to me by the city of New Haven, Indiana, Indiana's highest civilian award "The Sagamore Of The Wabash"  signed by the governor of the state of Indiana.

I have no reason to complain.  I'm still here, still have my kids, and still can ride albeit with a little less smoothness.

I'm back on track.

I'm glad your back on track. I detected the bad vibes in your post yesterday. I wanted to post then that you should just be sure to show up and those "awards" are just peices of paper for the fun of it. If your not there or nobody at all is there then the fun is gone and the paper awards are meaningless. "It doesn't matter what you ride" is true but even more true is what the person on the seat is made of.

We only get so many chance in life to look like fools and Inzane is a great place for that. If you can make please go. I'm not sure yet if we can go but we sure want to go.

I'll be the happiest fool there and there is no award for that.

Your list above of life rewards listed above is much better then any funny paper you will get at Inzane.

What Raymond said, Wayne.

You are truly a blessed man.

At my desk I have a little model airplane, and SNJ, that my sons and I put together for my father, but he passed away before I gave it to him.

That's a cool car.  You have good sons.

What everybody said, it's absolutely awesome that you have found a way to keep riding, that you've been recognized in your town, that you have such caring family and friends. I hope that God willing when I'm your age, I'm still riding, and that I get to meet you at the next Inzane. We all get cranky, but we get over it. My last reality check was seeing the woman who had her hands and face ripped off by a chimpanzee in Connecticut on TV. I have absolutely no problems.

...sometimes life tries to wear you down Wayne...whether its just cold rainy days keeping you all bottled up or some whinny no good that has nothing better to do then blame other for their problems...life goes on ...your entitled to have a bad day ...the good thing is your smart enough to get over it and count your blessing... that's a talent not many people have and you have alot to be thankful for...Devon and I have enjoyed your company this year and look forward to seeing you at InZane X if not before...
