And got my high school conduct post kicked? I like to have a little fun with the news of the day but some just have to get all serious.

Since I dislocated my shoulder a few years back my chances to being drafted as a Major League Baseball pitcher has been put in serious jeopardy too. Take that and run with. cooldude

Shouldn't that more correctly be, "It was I"?

Honestly there was participation on several persons' parts.  I will delete individual posts of personal attack and name-calling but after a while it just becomes not worth the salvaging.

I think that the topic itself was / is worthy of discussion.

I did see where that particular thread was starting to go "downhill".

The discussion could have been meaningful, but all too quickly degenerated into accusations, name-calling, and personal attacks.  Some pf us could use some serious growth in learning to discuss wiothout ridiculing.

There’s still plenty to discuss. Mrs Ford has been reported to have said now that if her attacker, supposedly Kavanaugh, hadn’t been so drunk she was afraid she might have died during the incident. First she says she doesn’t remember a lot of details but now remembers she was in fear for her life. What a tangled web we weave when we at first attempt to deceive.

Willow - it may be helpful to cite comments that caused the delete.
Those comments could be with or without attribution.

In my case if one of the comments was mine you have my explicit permission to quote with attribution.

It will help us understand the rules application.

I am not asking for this to be discussed, just as information, ie. a one way dialogue from management to users ONLY.

I really don't keep close track of the deletes in a thread such as the one that was removed.

To be helpful I will say that if one uses a demeaning distorted name for a member or for a group to which members belong that is over the line.  If one begins a demeaning or accusatory statement with you ______ or all you _____ I consider that a personal attack.  If all one has to say is a snide remark at someone he doesn't like, he should just walk away from the discussion without commenting.

If there's someone you know you don't like, then please go ahead and use the ignore feature and don't drag everyone else in.

I don't get why so many are so quick to condemn the guy and defend the girl, especially when the accusation is 36 yrs old and the person making them is sketchy on the details.

If this were his M.O. there would be girls coming out of the woodwork saying, "He did it to me too."

Instead, there are girls from his high school days coming forward defending his character.

This whole thing smells like cow manure.

The Dems couldn't find anything legitimate on him to block his nomination so they're throwing this crap out and hoping that it sticks.

It would serve them right if,  EVERY Democrat that is running for Congress or The Senate lost in the upcoming election.

I believe any accusation of this type, or especially like the Larry Nassar case the accuser should have to take a polygraph to make sure there is justification for possible charges. Just an opinion.

Letter from accusers lawyer to the Judicial Committee. Sounds pretty reasonable to me.

Dear Senator Grassley:
Thank you for reaching out yesterday afternoon. Dr. Christine Blasey Ford looks forward to working with you and the Committee.
As you know, earlier this summer, Dr. Ford sought to tell her story, in confidence, so that lawmakers would have a fuller understanding of Brett Kavanaugh's character and history. Only after the details of her experience were leaked did Dr. Ford make the reluctant decision to come forward publicly.
In the 36 hours since her name became public, Dr. Ford has received a stunning amount of support from her community and from fellow citizens across our country. At the same time, however, her worst fears have materialized. She has been the target of vicious harassment and even death threats. As a result of these kind of threats, her family was forced to relocate out of their home. Her email has been hacked, and she has been impersonated online.
While Dr. Ford's life was being turned upside down, you and your staff scheduled a public hearing for her to testify at the same table as Judge Kavanaugh in front of two dozen U.S. Senators on national television to relive this traumatic and harrowing incident. The hearing was scheduled for six short days from today and would include interrogation by Senators who appear to have made up their minds that she is "mistaken" and "mixed up." While no sexual assault survivor should be subjected to such an ordeal, Dr. Ford wants to cooperate with the Committee and with law enforcement officials.
As the Judiciary Committee has recognized and done before, an FBI investigation of the incident should be the first step in addressing her allegations. A full investigation by law enforcement officials will ensure that the crucial facts and witnesses in this matter are assessed in a non-partisan manner, and that the Committee is fully informed before conducting any hearing or making any decisions.
We would welcome the opportunity to talk with you and Ranking Member Feinstein to discuss reasonable steps as to how Dr. Ford can cooperate while also taking care of her own health and security.
Sincerely,
Debra S. Katz

an FBI investigation of the incident should be the first step in addressing her allegations.

This just confirms this is nothing but an attempt to delay the confirmation and besmirch a good man's reputation.

The FBI investigates federal crimes.

Even if the impropriety that she thinks she remembers might have happened, it would never have fallen under the purvey of being a federal crime, and she and her lawyers would know this.

It's not a federal crime, thus it's not under the purvey of the FBI, thus there's no business asking the FBI to investigate it.

It'd be like asking Willow to investigate a post on Facebook.

Ted Bundy was a sounded like a reasonable guy too.

My take on this letter confirms that this whole charade is nothing more than a stalling technique.

The Dems are trying to drag this out until after the midterm elections in hopes of gaining enough senate seats to shoot it down.

The FBI does more than investigate federal crimes. They do background checks. Which I believe this would fall under.

This is what I have heard and believe are facts.

The lady believes something happened to her when she was 15. She associates it with person A some 25 years later in a marriage counseling session.

She told no one about the event after it occurred or since until the the counseling session.

The counselor's notes indicate that four were present at the purported event.  She said that was incorrect only two were present at the time she was purportedly attacked.

She had a lie detector test administered by an Ex FBI Agent/employee (we don't know if he was qualified by the FBI to do such tests or his credentials since then).

Lie detector results are not admissible in a court of law as evidence of a crime, but may be used to sort of show something happened but are not results that are, of and my themselves, factual.  Its just data.  Lie detectors show what someone believes is true not what is "true".

The fact the the Senator who got the information kept it under wraps implies the Senator did not believe it was true.  The Senator had a one on one meeting with the accused and did not bring it up.

It was leaked to the press at the last minute by someone on the Senator's staff.

There are 65 women who say they know the person in question and doubt this could have happened.

The other person the lady said was in the room, said it did not happen.

No one has come forward to support the complaint's statements of what happened.  No friends, family, acquaintances.

It appears that the parents of the lady making the accusation, had dealings with the accused's mother in a court case that did not go well for her parents.

Am I missing something???
