For those that only go to the Texas board, I have the sad news that Landelephant (Charlie)'s battle with cancer ended this morning.  Cry

His daughter's post on Facebook:

(The post was made public, so I'm hoping it's okay to post it here)

"My dad was able to take his final breath in peace and with a gentle dignity this morning. His final wish was to do the Distinguished Gentleman's Motorcycle Ride in Houston on Sunday. He was raising money for colon, testicular, and prostate cancer awareness and research. PTSD for Veterans was another cause he was passionate about. He raised $1145 for these important men's diseases. With the help of Jeffrey as the family friend and caregiver, he was able to do the ride in the side car and had the most amazing experience. Thank you to his best friend Bruce for making the trip, and all the riders for including him and making him feel loved. He will be able to ride his motorcycle everyday in Heaven. I will never be able to fully express my love and gratitude! #coloncancersucks #lookingdapper #lovetheorange #sidecarriding"

Saw it on Facebook.  What a man - riding in a sidecar the day before he went home.

Charlie will be missed. I loved ridding with him and watching his Goldwing do end over end cartwheels when he wrecked it.

The illness explains the weight loss he experienced.

I just got a clear PET SCAN last week so my  tonsil cancer is clear now. Hope it stays that week because the treatment sucks. I have lost 40 lbs.
