Yesterday evening, I was over at someone's house, and there was a knock at the door.  Their son answered, so I didn't pay much attention to the conversation with the newcomer until the back of my brain registered the words "backing up" and "knocked over".  Wait, what??  Sure enough the neighbor's teenage son had backed slowly into my Valkyrie and pushed it over.  In my cursory inspection at twilight, there's no other damage than the saddlebag being scraped up where it hit the curb.  Even that wouldn't have happened if I had been another two feet away from the curb.  Looks like it would have been over on the engine guard and nothing else.
I'll look at it here in a few, now that the light's getting good.  She seemed to run fine on the way home.
Just what I needed, another thing to deal with.  At least they came over and told me, rather than just walking away and pretending they had nothing to do with it.  I have the mother's number, and she asked me to talk to her when I find out what it will take to repair.

That sucks, but it could have been worse.

Nice of the boy to fess up.  He should be commended and allowed to make things right.  Hopefully no expensive repairs needed.

I made a point of thanking them for coming over and talking to me about it.  I'll work on a paint quote, and I think everything will be settled.

cooldude it's nice to be reminded there are good young men and good parents out there doing the right thing. (It's also nice to be reminded there are old men out there handling it well)  cooldude

Last week I was at an intersection in my truck and a wide load with police escort was coming down hyway 2920 when a policeman on a Goldwing came flying up ahead of the wideload and came to a stop in the middle of the intersection.  He turned around to look back at the oncoming wide load and lost his balance and he tried to recover but the bike went over on its side.    I started getting out of my truck to help but he backed up to the Goldwing and grabbed hold and stood the bike back up by himself.  Picture perfect lift......he must get a lot of practice....ha
