Gorgeous.... The spousal unit sent me this pic out her hotel room window of the same sunrise (Assuming it was this morning's) from outside Phoenix:

And the sunsets are pretty great there too!

Arizona sure seems to have some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets I have ever seen.
Great pictures! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the sunrises guys, I can’t find my pic of sunrise on Mt. Washington or I’d add it in.

A pic of a sunset tonight.....stopped to soon though, It got a lot brighter in colour but no time to stop again as we needed to get to our destination before the kitchen closed.

cooldude one of the best sunsets I ever saw was in Freemantle, Australia. But, I was young and on the hunt for women and partying then. Didn't think much about it then.

Great sunsets can be found anywhere, the key is taking the time to absorb the the majesty and beauty of this big spinning ball. I give God the credit for it all and it helps keep me humble. I’ll have to share a Kentucky sunset sometime, it may be while, haven’t seen the sun for a few days.

Good post Rob, sunrises and sunsets do make some great photos. Best parts of the day in my mind...beginning of a brand new day, and the end of a (hopefully) satisfying one. I'm a very early riser and also late to bed, so I get to see lots of each. Best I've seen are in wide open spaces such as the Prairies or regions such as yours where the sky and horizon can go on forever, although we do get some good ones here at times as well, albeit a different look in the mountains.

Sunrises over Kootenay Lake this past Summer

Sunset looking out from my backyard and down the valley this past February

To f6john's comment....they certainly are Spiritual when you experience them full on...

Mike, That first sunset pic is beautiful !  cooldude

Got me to thinking about some time I spent in Kotzebue. I wish I had have taken some pics. In the winter the sun would disappear for a while and then creep back up. Opposite in the summer, it would just circle the sky and eventually edge down in the horizon. This was a google pic I found.

Since my great friend from B.C.  Mr. Mike Boldt shared I will have to do the same!

One of my favorites, a storm rolling in and the lighting making the sky almost purple with the dark clouds.

And in honor of our Polar Vortex with forcaseted low temps -27 below plus wind chill here's another picture.

Actually there was a fishing rod in front, just happened to be lined up where you couldn't see it.
That area that looks like a swamp is pretty much exactly what it looks like. We call it Emeralda Marsh. Great place for some pretty huge Bass.
The other photos are on Lake Yale, near my house.

These guys came out of Emeralda Marsh.
