Anybody interested in a ride to Death Valley next February?  The GL1800 riders are having an informal get together in Beaty, Nevada on Presidents Day weekend.  Since most of us are riding Wings now we could join them or do our own thing.  Let me know if your interested and what your thoughts are.

Thanks for the heads up John. I will consider going. I have done this ride with the GWRRA before a few yeas back when I was a member and also had a Goldwing. One year I rode my Valkyrie and one of my HD friends rode my Goldwing. We had a good time, and my HD riding friends who went with me, to this day claim it as the best rally and ride ever. In those years we rode together almost every weekend, attended most of the HD functions, and once a month we did an overnight ride.....amigo rick

John, what days are you considering? Stay at Motel 6 like we have in the past?

I've got my right knee surgery planned for January 7th, so if my recovery goes as well as my left, I'm in.

I was thinking Feb 22 thru Feb 26 (Friday thru Monday, Presidents Day Weekend) and yes to Motel 6, but I am up for change.  I'm retired so everyday is Saturday.  I am trying to see what works for everybody else.  If we are going that weekend then we should get reservations as I am sure they will fill up quickly that weekend.
George, that is fantastic news.  Hope you make it.

Rich, you are correct and thank you for correcting me.  So I guess we would be looking at Feb 15 thru Feb 18 then.  Does this work, or would another weekend be better?

John, that would work better for me, but after a doctor's appointment yesterday, I may schedule a little surgery for that time. So, if the event happens and I can make it, I will.

I'd be interested.  Havent been to DV yet, so this seems like a good opportunity.

My reservations have been made.  Motel 6, arriving Feb 15, leaving Feb 18.  I hope the weather is good.
I ended up ridding in snow (east of Kingman) last year.  Sam, I will be passing through Las Vegas on the way.  If you want to set up a time and place to meet, we can ride in together.

I booked a room with 2 beds as well. I don't know if I'll be able to make it on the bike but will try to make it in the truck. Still no word on my surgery until December 19th or so. If I do have the surgery I will be out of commission for at least 3 months I'm told.

I would love to be a part of this, just not sure work will permit. Will look at scheduling and if so make the Motel 6 reservation. Not to sound stupid, but where is the M6 located?

The motel is in Beatty, Nevada. Make your reservation and cancel if you cannot make it.

Sounds like a fun ride. If work permits I will join the ride. My work schedule on the weekends is a hit or miss if I have to work Saturdays or not

The Death Valley is in my to-ride list, I had to skip it last June when I rode the Sierra Passes (Ebbets, Monitor, Sonora, Tioga).

You guys have already worked out an initial route?
