Simply crunched numbers with a saleslady.....
We'll see what comes of it....tag showed just under $28k
Will need thousands to complete the 'comfort factor'....
Then comes trade-in talks....and maybe trailer the '08 down for an estimate

I'd go with a different set of 16's Ron....slightly wider from end to end and larger diameter....
mine are 1 1/4" and I'd go with the 1 1/2" diameter bars
Would need a new 4 point docking system, backrest and luggage rack....
New exhaust slip-ons....
New seat...and windshield...
Smoked lenses on front and rear directional and brake lights....
Replace passenger pegs with floorboards....
I would also want some lowers for the front, they mount on the engine guards.
I'm sure once I set down and really think about it, I'll come up with a couple more changes I'd have done to it before having it delivered !!!

I like the idea the factory has blacked it out, saving me the time....

Terry...that bike with the mod's you mention seems perfect for you. I can see you smiling ear to ear on it yelling, "show ur tits" to every Corvette convertible with a lady passenger that passes.  2funny

Rob...if I hadn't asked her to "show us your tits", we never would have seen those beautiful titties being proudly displayed above the convertible top !!!  Being a loud mouth and leading the pack has it's advantages.

My '08 is considered the 'Bastard Child', as in '09 HD redesigned the frame....They have also upped the motor a couple 3 times since my 96".....I have not taken any of the newer framed bikes for a test ride, not wanting to get into the 'I want that new bike'.....BUT DAMN... with the new 114 motor, blacked out all chrome, and the denim gunmetal grey (or whatever color they call it) really caught my attention.

I'm seriously trying to talk myself out of it....not sure how successful I am !!!

Terry,  you may want to talk yourself into it....

If I didn't find that particular Goldwing I have I would probably be on  Road Glide myself.

I have traveled with friends (one on a new Road Glide and 2 on Ultra's) and between the engine and lighting alone it is a very nice upgrade.

And as my Father always said,  "if money was meant to be held onto it would have handles".

Make yourself happy

Checking on which accounts I can shave from and not take a big whack.....
