I just picked up a red 2014 Valkyrie, and I love it! My one gripe is that I am a fairly large guy, and the mirrors are blocked by my arms/elbows. It's a real problem. The mirrors themselves are also a little small for my old eyes. Can anyone recommend good mirror stem extenders/risers, or cool aftermarket mirrors that maybe have long stems and big mirrors?

While I know exactly what you mean about the arms blocking them, I would recommend that you see if you can adjust to them. While you do have to move your arm or shift position to see behind you, the other  night while I was riding some behind me had on their high beams and it did not bother me one bit since it was not in my eyes.

Thanks Robert. While you make a very good point, what is bothering me is that I can't see people coming up fast behind me. Moving my elbows "works" but not well, and yanking my elbows in every few moments to check traffic is wearing on me fast. SoCal is not a place you want to ride without being super careful. It is the in top 3 of states with the highest motorcycle accidents. Sad

I hear you on that, but if you play with them a bit you may be able to get them to just clear the edge of your arm with a slight move inward of your arm. Thats how I did mine and now if I slightly move I get a full clear view of the rear. Also turning them to look more to the side of you seemed to help a bit also. Some have changed out the mirrors and they do have a fairly standard mount so anything you get should fit well and easy. I have just not found any mirror that look aesthetically better to me.

While I am not generally an EMGO fan, I have not found a mirror that works as well.

One source:
https://www.jpcycles.com/product/zz76126/emgo-black-universal-mirror-set

A couple things:
1. DO NOT get the ones intended for Yamaha - one of them is a left hand thread.
2. They come in a wide and normal version.  I use the normal, and with the stock bars the rear view is fine with my Motoport Riding jacket.
3. They only last about 2 years, and the finish on the metal and plastic mirror back both fade significantly.  At $15 I just replace them every couple years.

As I was putting on the throttle lock today I remembered that you can loosen the brake and clutch reservoir and move them closer to the grips. Its not going to be much but may just be enough and that is what I did.

They are all over Ebay. Just pick one with a longer stem. Mine are 7 1/2 stems and work fine and they were $18.00 dollars
