heated clothing

looking to purchase some heated clothing. Ideally 12volt with battery pack and also adapter cable to run off bike. What is everyone using?

What is everyone using?

Rig up some sort of 12 or so gauge connection to your battery,
probably with a relay that only allows it to be hot when
your key is on and maybe have a on/off button too.

Numerous brands of heated gear are good... most important
to me is gloves and  a jacket liner with glove connections at the
cuff and a dual-controller.

Gerbing .....I am going into my 3rd winter season with the 12 volt Jacket-Pant,Glove setup. I just got back from a trip to Myrtle Beach from Atlanta. The temp ranged from the mid 30`s in the mornings to mid 40`s in evenings. I was feeling July in December with a smile on my face in this set up. I ran through a little rain Fri back in Atlanta with no worries due to the waterprof liner within the make up of the Jacket-Pants.

I hate to say it, but do a search.

There have been some long discussions and suggestions Pro/Cons of different manufactures.

A straight plug to power is all you need, as you don't leave the heated gear turned on left on the bike without you.

If I was paying full price, I wouldn't buy Gerbing. But there was a recent post about 3 weeks ago about a place selling their stock at $50 ea piece. That's about 1/3 the cost, and 1/5 from MSRP. I bought another jacket liner and controller for myself. I bought my Gerbing about 8 yrs ago at a premium, when they offered lifetime warranty, which they have now cancelled.

I ride year round in the DC/MD area with the avg temps in the 0-30F deg range.  Here's what I found to keep me warm in the 50 min commutes... even during the coldest ride of 0F !!.  All of these are 12v standard plugin:
-Gerbing Jacket liner (under a windproof jacket abv 20F and a Leather jacket below 20F)
-Venture Heated Pants
-Firstgear Heated Socks
-Volt MOTO Men’s Leather Motorcycle Heated Gloves
-Gears Baklava Head wrap

I run all this with the Gerbing Wireless Dual Temp Controller and Dual wireless remote

First, you'll want to consider that I ride with a windsreen, which cuts down a whole lot of the cold issues!  Over the years I've tried a few different products and found the cheaper one's just didn't keep me warm below 30 degrees.   The MOST difficult were the gloves with all resulting in almost frozen first finger joints below 30F.  The ONLY gloves that worked down to 0F were the heated liners under thick leather gloves OR the Volt gloves (my current use), which are fantastic and can actually make my hands sweat even when it's 20F out.
