Just wondering what LED lamps everyone is using and the level of satisfaction with your selection. I searched the boards and found some recent (July 2018) conversations. Valkorado is happy with the ones he picked and I’m leaning that direction. Since they are improving LED replacement bulbs daily, was just wondering if someone had come up with the “bomb”.

I followed Valkorado's suggestions as well, I really like the type of light better. I removed my fairing so I could mount the black box, there is a flat spot on the back side of the headlight housing where I used dbl face tape to secure the boxes.

Wow, you made a project out of it! I took the lazier approach, and used zip ties to attach the ballasts to the upper fork tubes, and tucked 'em in behind the fairing.

LOL, fairing comes off pretty easy (10 min), while I had it off I modified the front turn signals to LED's, followed Steel Cowboys turn signal change to HD pancake style signals.

I actually just looked 2 nights ago after coming back from my weekly GWRRA meeting with the boys.
They use one for their GL1800 from Socalmotogear.com that they swear by for their bike. When I asked and talked about on H4 version for my IS, turned out they are using an H7 (?), and the discussion was there isn't any good one yet for one that has a dual beam (Hi/Lo).
That's why I searched the forum for the discussions from this year about replacement head light bulbs. I think it's going to come down to how much to spend. Do you buy one bulb at $65, or a set for $40, and see which one is better.
But since I bought a higher watt bulb earlier in the year, along with one of BonS's head light relayed direct power wires (Smart Switch), for the bulb, so it gets its power direct from the battery. I do very light riding in the dark, so am also more interested in being seen.

Replaced Head Light Bulb on my "Fast Black" 2003 with a Pathfinder 4H 6000K Bright White LED Bulb. Also replaced the H3 Halogen Bulbs in my twin Spotlights with 50 Watt, H3 LED 360 Bulbs from Pathfinder. Bright White -6000K.

The ad is for a direct H4 head lamp. Is the I'state an H4 lamp?

I'm somewhat confused.
Partsfish shows the headlamp part number the same as an ST1100, 34901-MS2-672 . The ST1100 is not an H4 lamp. It is very similar but the 3 tabs are at different angles than an H4. The ST1100 headlamp housing has the slots for the tabs cast into the plastic housing. It is a US DOT thing as the European ST lamp housing is cast for an H4.

Yes. Bulb H4 #9003 Technically, no. The stock OEM bulb is different. But most everyone uses the H4 by breaking 2 of the tabs.

I got a set of LED lights from SuperbrightLEDS.com Integrated controllers so no black box to worry about. Plug and play. I am not 100% happy with the beam pattern but they are really quite bright

I HIGHLY recommend Electical Connections LED bulbs. I have posted pictures of road views with these mounted on my IS. The difference is incredible. They are easy to install just make sure you get an H4 adapter

I looked up your thread and your link to the bulbs. https://electricalconnection.com/index.php/product/led-headlight-bulb-h4/I called electricalconnection (spoke with KC) to ask a few questions (may be of interest to others): 1) Warranty? 2 years 2) Need any adapters? yes, their part # 2510 ($13/pair) 3) Legal? Legal in TN but don't know about anywhere else. 4) Need to trim rubber boot? No. 5) What is 360 degree beam angle? Emits light a full 360 degrees. 6) What is adjustable pitch angle? They provide an allen wrench to make adjustments to the angle of the bulb, but adjustment not needed for I/S. So I still haven't decided.
