Been a while since I posted about my bike.... had a bit of a hiccup with the last phase of upgrades.... BUT we finally finished. Here's what's been completed so far:

6 Degree rake kit
Forward Controls from BBT
Progressive 440 shocks 11.5" LOWER than stock
Progressive front spring + seals replaced
MarkT 5" Glass pack with Trombones with howitzer silencers


A youtube video of how it sounds... Keep in mind I didn't let her open up all the way... was still a bit cold and I would have felt bad lol

If you're in the market for a new exhaust for your Valkyrie, I would go for MarkT. I did a lot of reading on the Viking and other available aftermarket pipes, and was originally looking at the Viking pipes because of the added "horsepower," however after reading multiple opinions on it, it sounds like you're sacrificing low rpm torque for high rpm torque? Not really my cup of tea, Valk already has immense power and I'd really rather not ride it like it's a racing bike anyway, because it's not.

Soundwise, this exhaust is a winner. Sounds like a very angry machine, very unique sound for a motorcycle. My friend has a 121" V-twin that breaks down every other ride, sure my bike will probably not be heard while I'm next to his, but that kinda stuff is just obnoxious. I'm super happy with the way my exhaust sounds, it is EXACTLY what the valkyrie should have sounded like stock imo


I also did the Crossfire/crossover option. It's only about a hundred bucks more and definitely something you want to get. Supposedly adds HP and makes your bike breath better. Sold me

21.5" custom rim / rear matching rim from bikers image...?
Ultimate big boy seat
Polish the handlebar controls or replace with new ones..? Pitting damage..

I remember six months ago or so a fellow was talking about raking his
bike that wasn't a trike... maybe it was you... have you ridden it raked
much yet? I guess maybe you're thinking ahead to the 21 inch front wheel?

Yep! Probably was me Smiley I was scared about the wobble... but I haven't noticed anything, fastest I've taken her was 115 MPH, it's supposedly after 120 MPH. The bike handles great.. I hadn't really ridden it stock for very long so I couldn't tell you too much about a difference. Another fear was my bike scraping because of the lowered rear shocks... haven't scraped yet, though I certainly don't carve out corners on her Smiley


I was told from 3 other users on this forum that a 21.5" rim will help the handling of the bike because I had raked it and lowered the rear suspension to 11.5." I'd like to hear a few more opinions before I commit to spending over 2 grand for rims  Cry

that exhaust sounds great!! smitten....true the Valk isn't a race bike but the Viking header w/Dyna 3000 at 7,400 rpm when the rev limiter kicks in sure sounds like a race bike Evil..as Mark T says torque wins a street  race every time...next October the Attic Rat will massage my ride--a Dyno run will be in order..maybe 110- h.p.?

Bike looks and sounds good!  I hear that 6° rake kit makes the bike handle a lot better.  Not like I'm unhappy with the handling now.  But I'm a believer in doing improvement mods - done quite a few to my bikes!  You might like to look into Ammpro's (RIP) shift anchor mod.  I did that slightly modified to both my daily riders which also have the fwd controls.  Improves the shifting and prevents the shifter seal leak (we think - hasn't leaked yet). Have to modify it a little for the BBT bolt-on plate at the OEM shift arm. Lol Hey mark, it's me Noor. I literally printed out direct quotes from you, gave my guy your youtube video link, AND gave him your phone number and insisted he asked you for advice... he didn't do any of that...... I spent $980 for him to install the forward controls and your exhaust... He did not do the shifter mod OR ANY of the fab work you mentioned in your youtube video..  uglystupid2

Moral of the story? If you want to customize a bike like this, you should probably have some mechanical skills, otherwise you're probably going to get milked  by a mechanic   :'(

As of today I took my bike back to the shop because the BBT forward controls was not shifting back down properly to first and second gear... I once again mentioned the shifter mod, but it seemed like it went through one of his ears and out the other. Will see what he does this time....

Hey man I got mine from Xf6-customs. They seem like the go-to company for the rake kit, and the guy I talked to on the phone seemed pretty cool. Though one thing I did notice after the rake kit was my bike SLIGHTLY leans to the right now.... I read a few other people with this problem and said it wasn't a big deal, and you don't even notice it unless you take your hands off the bars and let it coast.
