Manual says check every 4k.   I've checked every 8k.  3 times checked.   Bone dry every time.   Anybody ever have any liquid drain out?   Extra credit if you can tell me where the source of liquid comes from and what type of liquid comes out (rain water - excess gas - excess oil - whatever).   From an internet search, guessing liquid source is from inside the engine .   Thanks - John

Never checked mine, at 30,000mi. now.
Buddy has a 2012 Wing with 60,000mi., has yet to have fluid in his.

As for type of fluid?  You pretty much nailed it.  cooldude

Oh, one more thing. My Valk has never been on it's side, if it does decide to take a nap I'll check it ASAP as per manual...

I have had some with my 1500 and none with the 1800. The source of the condensation is from the vapors from the crankcase. Residual from the blow by from the burning gas passing the rings and from the condensation in the crankcase and the water that will sometimes get into the oil by condensation. That is the reason an engine should be allowed to run to temp and stay there awhile so that the oil gets up to temp and the impurities in the oil have a chance to evaporate. Combustion by products are partly water among other things so that also finds itself down to the crankcase.

In cars without a good crankcase vent system or with only short trips you will see a tan foam around the filler neck sometimes. This is the residual water combined with oil that clings to the inside of the engine that is not removed by the vent.
