The oil seals went right in, the All Balls seals simply wouldn't budge so got tossed. Grumpy told me they fight too tight and quit using them, nothing but OEM so I followed his advice with success. Now the dust seal....different story. What's the secret to getting those suckers in? I get one side in place and start pressing around the circumference and it all pops out so I have to start all over. The Honda tool doesn't fit around them like it does for the oil seal so can't use that. Plus, everything is so slippery now it makes it even more frustrating. Why are these so cussed difficult and when I did the 1200 forks it was a walk in the park?!?   Angry

OK, left it alone for a time then went back to the shop for another try, leave it to me to screw up a one man parade. I was placing the dust seal into place and trying to use the tool to insert it. That resulted in the seal not being square with the tube when pressure was applied. I found the tool does fit on the dust seal if you raise the seal above the tube entry point and apply the tool. That also squares up the seal to the tube's entry point and with one good whack it was in place...first try.

Kinda reminded me of the cartoon drawing of the nerdy little kid trying to enter his school....the door has a sign above it that said "School for Gifted People."  The handle on the door said "pull" and he's pushing hard as he can.  Shocked Grin

John.

How about the bushings?
Did you also order OEM bushings or did you use the ones that came with the AB kit?

I also used the the all balls for my project bike and I now have some light leaking so I'm going to have to do the whole process again with OEM seals.

Grumpy also advised me to go with OEM seals but I forgot to ask about the bushings

I ever need forks rebuilt again it WILL be O E M all the way. All balls was a waste of my money and Ross's time. Got the a b installed and they promptly leaked. Went to Honda in Crystal Lake Il for the O E Ms and they've been good since install. RIDE SAFE.

Jack, I ordered OEM bushings, they installed easy. The AB brand of seals simply wouldn't go in so took Bill's advice and ordered OEM oil/dust seals. Went in easy although I had a problem with the dust seal until I figured out what I was doing wrong.

I'm glad that I read this post before ordering fork seals, thanks Grumpy. I did try using Seal Doctor but to no avail. However, it seems that I may have damaged the oil seals working the Seal Doctor around the fork tubes because the leak increased after attempting the quick fix.

Seal Doctor has two sizes, 35MM-45MM or the 45MM-55MM. I'm using the 35MM-45MM size. Offhand, I don't have the diameter of the Valkyrie fork tubes, but I think from memory it's 41mm. For those who use Seal Doctor, are you using the larger size (45MM-55MM) ??  I didn't remove the fork protector but doubt that's contributed to the issue.
