Sold my Blue 2014 about 2 years ago and now I'm thinking about getting another.
Located a new red 2014 at a dealer about 100 mi away at a great price.
One main issue I had with the previous ride was the seat.
It was torture after an hour in the saddle. Has there been any good aftermarket seats produced -or- is there a reliable seat shop that can re-contour the seat to make it any more comfortable.
** At a reasonable cost???

Thanks guys

Russell driver's seat, about $600, Utopia backrest, about $200...

I wouldn't even think about buying another Valkyrie without being ready to
pay for a decent seat.

I had both my seats redone by Terry’s Custom Seats. I have yet to try them out, winter here, so it will be a few more months. He charged 250.00 per seat, so total of 500.00 there. I also at the same time had terry install the Hdwr for Utopia’s drivers backrest with Quick detach hardware.  Unable to post pics here. Everything looks good and transaction went fine. The reason I went this route was, during my research I found mixed reviews of Corbins. Some love them, some do not.

I only put 3000 miles on my Valkyrie last summer, but so far I'm fine with a Airhawk cushion.
For long trips I use my B.

Thank you for all of the replies.
I'm going to the dealer this weekend to look at the Valkyrie and see where the OTD price might be negotiated.

Although not in any real rush to do a deal, I still wanted to know what options were out there regarding seating. I'd like to hope that my first 2014 seat may have had one-off cushioning/contour problem from the factory. Knowing how well Honda controls production this probably isn't the case.
No way to really know if this bike has the same issue until it's ridden a couple hundred miles. May end up going back to a gel-pad until I decide how to proceed.

I appreciate all of the feed back.

Be safe.

Go with the AirHawk.  I have a gel pad and I still get sore after a few hours on it.

You will need a seat ! Rode mine about 50 miles bringing it home & got very uncomfortable ......Ordered a Corbin ,have since stayed in the saddle most of a day & could have rode more ......Factory seat is a turd !

I posted that I used a Airhawk but last fall it started to leak,so I ended up buying a Wild Ass cushion it's like a Airhawk but it has gel on top. I didn't get to test it yet, hopefully it's better.

Hadn't thought about beads. uglystupid2

I have a set in storage that I used during hot summer months on my Kawa. Might be a good idea to try it first.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Another idea, besides the beads.

I picked up the Harley Davidson seat pad a few years ago. After InZane 16, I rode to Madawaska, Maine. The most northeastern Town of the US. With the all day riding, I needed something, so I picked up this pad.
This pad is actually pretty comfortable. And,  do to the 3-D construction, it does provide air circulation.
I also use it when I get caught in a rain shower. It keeps the water from puddling up.

Just a quick update.
The red Valkyrie I was going to look at was sold the day before I was going to the dealer.
They have a Black one still in the crate. I'm just not a big fan of black.
So for right now I'm waiting to see what else might become available in the area.

Russell Day Long.  Never had a good Corbin and only one good Sargeant.  You wont quit riding at the end of the day cause you cant wait to get off the seat.  Took a 7,500 miles trip with it this summer.  Dont screw around.  Just get an RDL.

Just  a quick update on the purchase.
I was unable to find a Valkyrie I wanted in the region.

Working with my favorite dealer we did locate and have purchased a new 2016 F6B, in matte Bullet Silver. My wife and I found the bike much better suited for riding two up.

Thanks to everyone that offered their comments and suggestions.

Ride safe and I hope to see you down the road.

I feel that for two up and distance you  made a good choice.
Between  the cruise control and  proven motor many miles and smiles.

glad to here you found a good bike. never regretted getting my 2014. love that motor, took a 4200+ mile trip last summer and all i did was add a pad to the seat, rode like 250+ miles a day. Wanted to take my time. the stock seat is fine for me on our weekend rides, I only rid solo and for long trips I mount a Viking trunk instead of the passenger seat so I can lean on it as a back rest. adds just enough storage, along with the Honda bags, and the bike still looks lean and mean. Good luck with the new bike.
