I have a 7-8yr old GE side by side 25.6 cubic ft refrigerator Model # TFX26KP (I think) that will not dispense the ice through the door. Makes plenty of ice just won't give it to me.

When you place a glass in the opening and hit the button you hear a click but nothing comes out (I think the click is the dispensing door opening). I don't think the auger is working.

I pulled the ice tray out and noticed 2 of the 3 screws that hold the auger motor, in the back of the refrig, were missing so I got some and put them back in and was able to rotate the auger motor and auger by hand, but once put together it still didn't work. I can now hear a humming but the auger still doesn't turn.

Any ideas, comments, suggestions are welcomed!!

I am by no means an expert, but... sounds like what I just fixed on mine.  In my case it was rhe "mother board".  What is the model number of your unit?  If it is something like PSC23SGRD SS then it is the same as mine.  Check the motor first.  Take it out and bench test it.  Just use an old power cord with crimp on female spade connectors.  Hook up the spades first, then plug it in.  If the motor runs it is probably the "mother board".  Here is a link to the site where I got my part.   Hope this helps.  Stan (old grouch)

Old Grouch had it right check the motor the click you hear is the switch for the motor when you open the door. Im not sure of the voltage should be 110 but sometimes in fridges they step the voltage down. A simple volt meter and a little time probing should tell you the problem.

The ice can sometimes form a block.  Empty the hopper, or make sure it's all loose.

Otherwise... just reach in for your ice.  I do that because my auger was designed by a expletive deleted egg head doofus that couldn't design a paperclip.

If it is like mine there are also some switches that require the door to be  shut before the motor will run. My delivery  shoot will sometime clogg up with ice. I have to remove ice bucket and clean it all out with hot water to get it working again.
