Sure does make all the Vets around here think that they are really thought of. And this is our President?????????? Check out this latest picture, from Veterans Day 11/11/09, at the Ceremony in Arlington National Cemetery . I don't know whether the National Anthem is being played, or the Flag is going by, or WHAT, but EVERYBODY in the picture is either saluting or has his hand over the HEART. All except ONE. Guess who! The Audacity of Arrogance!

I remember during the election he did the same thing. He defended it by saying he does other things to show his patriotism. Well it stinks! All it really shows is that he hates America the way it is, and thats why he wants to "fundamentally change" it to something he can be proud of......oh and Mr Fidel Castro just publicly said what a good job Obama is doing.
Lets all take a field trip to Cuba to see what America will look like if this ID-ten-T error isint corrected quick, fast and in a hurry!

I'm sure it was just an oversight, , he's really busy trying to finalize his plans to confiscate the wealth from all us "wealthy" Americans. Or mayhbe this is just another photshop job by Fox News and Glen Beck et al.

As much as I might not care for the individual that is not saluting..... the circumstances surrounding the picture (which is a true and valid picture) are such that explain it. Snopes claims that when this picture was taken, Hail to the Chief was being played as he arrived on stage. http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/photos/veteransday.asp

I bought it many years ago, but I think it is Bordered on 3 sides by the Atlantic Ocean.

My instincts are to give President Obama the benefit of the doubt. However, with pictures such as these, that's getting harder and harder to do.

I agree it is difficult.... and as I indicated earlier, as much as I might not care for the individual, was meant to indicate that I don't care for him. You can see he was sorta "lost" when he first came out on stage, went to the Podium then came out from behind it. Granted, the "hail to the chief" was for him, so he should not have saluted himself. However, my interpretation is that when being saluted it is only proper to return the salute in the same respect and manner in which it was initiated. I didn't notice a return salute, but it could have been presented before the song was over, and after the above picture was taken. And speaking of Hail to the Chief, I don't think we should have a Commander In Chief unless they have served honorably in the Armed Forces for a minimum term, say 4 years.

I personally agree with the thing about the Commander In Chief having military service.....but it is not an accident that we have a civillian in charge of the military......and there are plenty of prior military totally incapable of being the chief.........so its a dilema, but it dont make me like this new guy any more

His own patriotism dictates a different protocol than most. Like I said, it stinks! I know when I was in...I felt honor and country and pride going into harms way under the first Bush, but the disdane that Clinton had for the military was disturbing and as far as I know he was willing to honor the flag. What I am saying is ...it matters and Obama doesnt get it!
