PROBLEM??? Desmog

I bought a 97 Bumblebee last fall and with the cold Kansas weather and being gone a lot just now starting to get a three bikes ready for summer.
Anyway on Bumblebee done valves (they were pretty close) new timing belts on, sounds even better.
But yesterday pulled tank and air cleaner off and its way different than the you tube video and info on this site.
Lots of vacuum lines just laying there not hooked up (the bike ran great when I bought and the little I have rode this winter).
There were 3 lines laying on bottom open on both ends and a 3/8 rubber line between 3 & 5 and between 4 & 6 on a t like between carbs they were open on the other end.
I read somewhere reference on this site can't find now,,,,, it said do not plug these 3/8 lines.

Some of those could be merely carb drain hoses. A picture would help.

This may help better than the video. You can click on the pics and make them bigger.

California bikes are different. I have one. I couldn't go by what I was finding on the internet. When I did the desmog I remember that it had 3 ports per carb to cap off. I also remember a hose about 3/8" that went to each carb bank that had to be left open. It's some kind of vent line. When I capped it the bike ran terrible.

On California bikes, there is a line that goes to the vacuum canister down by the sidestand.

I suspect all the "stuff" was left in place. That the ends that the hoses where removed from, have been closed off. Would make an easier job to replace, in case it was ever wanted again.
