Okay, my blue flame has been covered and garage kept all Winter long.  Hadn't run since early November when I stored it.  I did not keep a battery tender on it, just filled the tank with gas and added Stabil 360.  Last night I decided to see if it would start...turned the key, lit right up, hit the starter button and the starter only ran for *maybe* a second...and she fired up immediately and settled to a steady idle moments afterwards.  Amazing...

Now the not so good news.  Let it warm for about 10 minutes...took it out for a spin around the block.  Noticed the high beam would stay on....then I accidentally hit the emergency kill switch..  the motor stopped of course, but then wouldn't restart.  I toggled the switch multiple times...but to no avail would it start.  FINALLY, it worked (the switch)..and was able to start it and put back into the garage.  Got some contact cleaner and with a fine straw inserted, was able to squirt cleaner in the sides of the switch for both the high beam and emergency stop switch...worked it in and now it works perfectly.

Guess I wash her too much.

Going now to the auto parts store (Oreilly) to get some Lucas Oil 10w30 and do the oil change.  Suppose to FINALLY warm up this week!

If you saw the size of the wires coming out of the key switch you would be surprised, way smaller than even the inside wires on a guitar connection. I diconnnected my kill switch so would not have the same problem. Crappy contacts, small wires out in the middle of nowhere, yea nothing could happen  Grin

I fired mine up last weekend to move it out of storage.  It was at my cousin's place and I wanted it home.  Roads were too salty, so I loaded it up into a covered trailer and brought it home.  Mine started up the same way Adrian, although, I had mine on a tender all winter.  Gets way too cold for a battery that small and the battery is not cheap.

If global warming is happening...why is it so cold up here?
