Wanting to purchase a rear Avon Cobra tire. I see that the original size from the factory is 180/70HR/16. I've noticed a 180/60HR/16 also. Will this tire let the bike sit lower to the ground, therefor letting me get more flat footed at a stop? I could use a little lowering to the ground since I'm short legged. Anyone running this tire size? Thanks...

The height of the 180/60-16 sidewall is 18mm shorter than the 180/70-17 (180mm x .7 = 126mm versus 180mm x .6 = 108mm).  Overall height would be 36mm shorter, but the seat height would be lowered 18mm.  That tire would also increase the rpm per mpg a bit.  I don't know anyone running a tire that size.

Isn't that the 1800 Wing rear tire size?

I used a 60 series tire on my tourer.
Yes it will sit you lower and raise your RPMs,but
 not that much.

Try to find the ACTUAL size of the specific tire.  I just did a lot of research before buying the Falkien and the difference in actual size in the same nominal size is substantial.  I even found some where the nominal and actual sizes crossed to the next larger or smaller nominal size.

Sorry about the jackin of the cobra tire Q but I sure would like some info on your Falken tire! I dug up that its a 205/65, just what I would go for if I did go to the dark side! But the 180/70 Venom I have on my 99 Int has only 3/8 "clearance @ the drive shaft now! Can you say what all you did or have to make yours fit, Please!!

Daytona,
I just found this question you had.
I know its probably too late but I did not have to do anything extreme to get it to fit.  I had to put a washer in on the rear of the right side to move the fender over more central and look real close at the captive nuts under the fender.  Somewhere in the Tech file there are instructions about shimming the fender and how to get the most under fender clearance.
By the way I now have 3 or 4 K on the Falkien and I am very happy with it.  I am running about 48#s and it handles very nicely.  Also I expected to lose some mpg but it did not effect it at all.

TH jackin again, sorry! Thanks for your reply. Seems I'll not need a longer wear tire anyway, valks a Garage Queen now we have a grand daughter! The boss has an excuse every time I suggest a trip farther than 20 miles. B safe!
