If any locals have a set of Honda saddlebag black tops in very good condition that are plain, I would love to trade for my black tops with chrome racks attached.   Roll Eyes

Maybe you've already considered this, but if you don't get any satisfactory takers, you can take your racks off, and stick acorn nuts with washers on top (bolts up from the inside), to plug the holes.  It would sort of match up with a studded seat.  (With a bit of clear RTV silicone on each bolt for waterproofness.) And they could probably be found in black (or painted), if you wanted.

I have the OE racks like those on my black trunk interstate, and they have never been used for anything other than handles to pull the lids off & on.  And they just interfere in cleaning and waxing the lids.

My black permanent supervalk does not have them, and the clean look looks better to me than racks.  I do have the small/curvy solo rack behind the solo seat because it's nice to have something to tie to if you must carry something that won't go in the bags (and protect the paint).  But that rack is very small and no good for anything large.

And none of my lids are in anywhere near as nice condition as yours.

Also, the paint above my bag latches is constantly worn off, and I hit those spots with a black magic marker every so often.

I too, like the clean look.  The 1983 Goldwing bags I put on my Valk, had racks on them.  I removed them and plastic welded the holes shut.  Of course, I then finished them off and painted the bags black.

I’ll take you up on this. I’ve been considering putting racks on but wasn’t sure I wanted to clean around them, but the price is right. LOL. You can check mine out at the cottage, 90% sure I’ll be there.

Wow, nice. I'm really liking solo bikes lately. I soloed the Cobra bike just for the pictures. Judy looked real sad watching her seat come off lol
