I received the heel part of the shifter and installed it in like ten minutes when I got back from the Cape yesterday. AWESOME! Easy install, and a quick trip around the block and you couldn't knock the smile off my face with a sledgehammer. (Kathy tried). I still have the problems with my foot but following in the footsteps of Holmes and YB, compensate, adapt and move on. If it wasn't raining right now I'd be a thousand miles from nowhere.
Well, almost. While installing the shifter I noticed the rear tire looked a little thin. After further inspection its just not safe for riding. So, two new Metzler ME 888 Ultras are on their way here. Should be here by Thursday. I will r&r them from the bike on Friday when I get home and take them to the local shop for mount and balance. (only $25 each, didn't think that was a bad deal)
So hopefully after Kathy's CT Scan next Saturday, I will be a riding fool again.
Oh course Kathy reminded me of the Honey do list. "Can't see it from the bike" I guess was not the reply she was looking for.
I can't tell you how excited I am I can ride. It really took the wind out of my sails. We all work hard and this is the one thing that makes it all worth it to me.

I know "that $hit eatin' grin" will not be removed easily Paul.....When we got back on the bike
last year, after a 2 year absence, we smiled for months on end.
Glad the heel shifter part was an easy install, and especially glad to hear you can & will adapt...
Hope to meet up with you and Kathy this summer....bring your 'honey do list', I'll bring mine !!!

Excellent news! We're happy for the both of you and look forward to seeing you on the road.  cooldude

I ran into Kathy's uncle at Shaw's yesterday and he was asking about you. I filled him in.

Hey, I'd love to know the name of the shop you use to mount and balance MC tires. $25 per tire is a phenomenal price compared to shops around my way: $40 to $65 per tire.

 Cool

Say hi to "Uncle Larry" the next time you see him.
I use Souhegan Valley Motorsports in Milford NH. They are across the street from Chappel Tractor. They have done my tires for a long time

That is fabulous! Where there is a will, a way can be found! Frequently with help from the people in this group, and even the riding community as a whole. Happy Easter and Passover, or whatever you celebrate. Was back in the old neighborhood yesterday for a 90th Birthday celebration for Pat, one of Claire's long standing friends. People commented on what wonderful friends my motorcycle peeps are. I could not agree more. Hope to see you all in the wind soon!  smitten smitten smitten
