It is a terrific area.

We were just up there 2 weeks ago for a friends 60 birthday party at the Legion in Painted Post.  Beautiful area up there.  They were showing us where they grew up.  Thought I grew up in the country in Northern Indiana.  Nothing like the hills and their dirt roads.  Wish we could make the ride but have already committed to a wedding.

Got to Watkins Glen in time to meet the group for lunch right at the southern tip of one of the finger lakes.  It was a stunning day and the breeze off the lake was really nice.
After a good fish and chips lunch Rick led us on a ride north then I have no idea but the roads were all good and eventually we were heading south along what may be the same or a different lake

Some excitement as an A$$wipe in a silver pick up passed first me and David then the whole rest of the bikes but he did not notice the sheriff parked under the trees who radioed ahead and the jerk got his just desserts !!

Showing his acumen for the dessert by the way Rick had us all execute a u turn for some mighty fine ice cream then we took other roads to Painted Post and the host hotel

After some mandatory tire kicking followed a nice dinner at a patriotic restaurant. I had a double burger with a side of broccoli seeing how I am trying to lose weight (less than 2 months till my sons wedding) while all the others chowed down properly.

My eyes and concentration have not been what I want them to be lately so I informed all that I would head home today and I did so
Made it the 240 miles home in 3 1/2 hours using other vehicles as the rabbits

Just back from watching the Aladdin movie with Bonnie and Stacy (we all liked it a lot) and dinner at a new chinese place on 9A.

Thank you to Adrian and Rick and Deb for putting together another great powwow. Next year is in London Ontario again I believe. It was good to meet David (Rick's friend) and see Mad6, the Bovine, Craig and Adrian's son again.  Sorry I missed the Grand Canyon of PA it was on my list but I will do it another time....  Better safe than be not riding my ride  This is craig and dave

Yup, malarky. We had an awesome day riding today! Got hit by about 10 sprinkles all day.
We visited the little Grand Canyon in PA, then hit some great roads down near the bottom of the canyon.
Just as we hit a freshly paved section, Radar Love came on my I Pod, followed by Roll Me Away. Could not have been a better ride!

But the best part of the day was after visiting a HD dealer, Rick lit up the tires on his trike leaving.
LOVE the smell of burning rubber!!

No Way!   Surely you’re mistaken..   Hard to believe Rick would have done something like that.

Rolled into the garage at 6 tonite from Painted Post Pow Wow.
Had a good ride home, was following a rain storm and finally caught up to it as I crossed the NY/MA line on I 90.  I had geared up when I said “adieu” to my new friends at the Corning glass museum. (See what I did there Adrian?) And it finally came in handy 4 hours later  cooldude
Thanks for hosting my friend!  Ya got a good kid there, even with raccoon eyes  2funny
Rick, awesome rides & great roads, but that trike smells like burning rubber??
Deb, thanks for the shuttle service keeping us dry.
Dave, behave on the radio & good luck on the Sgt. test.
Mark, Chris, & Evan good riding with you all.
968 miles for me.

I had a great time!
See you next year,
Craig

Glad you made it home safe. It was a pleasure having your company and riding with you. Take care and I'm sure we'll ride togather again. We had a terrific weekend. And the weather co-operated more than I expected.

Once again another successful Powwow in the book . Headed home today I want to thank Rick and Adrian for making this a good one. The memories of the Glen and Corning plant will last a life time and the twisty roads were awesome. If the only bad thing was a bad batch of doughnuts so be it. Till next year folks keep the shiny side up.

Hi All Jacob and myself got home about 3 this afternoon. Windy but nice weather. Border treated us very well.
I agree with the fact that we had a great time. I enjoyed climbing the Glen , all 7 miles 13 foot (LOL) and Corning was very interesting.  Restaurants  did a good job of filling us.
Yes NW , the doughnuts did leave a very bad taste but just wait for those Canadian Maples in the mail.
Special thanx to Rick and Deb. Just perfect.
Happy trails Adrian (Chrome) V
Hope to see most of you next year in London

my wife and i had a wonderful time in corning ny. it was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones.
the wife drove the car since they were calling for thunderstorms on thursday friday and sunday. glad she did because it was nice having a ride to supper when it was raining.

fridays ride to watkins glen was nice and sunny with no rain forcasted, lunch at the marina was great, then oss showed up.( just kidding buddy ) it was great seeing you again, been too long.
rode some very nice roads at a leisurely pace and got to see alot of the finger lakes. i really got amused when some dipstick that was in a big rush decided to screw with the back of the group and then pass us all doing about 80, he did'nt see the sheriff sitting under the tree that radioed ahead to the cop sitting up the road. when i seen the lights start flashing i laughed my butt off, but don't worry folks, theres still plenty there.

sat. ride to wellsboro started with a couple of sprinkles then cleared right up. wanted to take the group down 414 which goes threw the lower part of the canyon but it was closed for repairs, its about friggen time they actually do some repairs on that road instead of just tar and chip.
so we went for other roads instead, which led us on some really great roads down threw the forest, been quite awhile since iv'e been on those roads and forgot how great they really were.
the radar was looking iffy back up around the hotel so we super slabbed it back up the road, stopped for supper and then went to the hotel.
all in all we had a great time coming back on monday it normally would take me 4 and 1/2 hours to get to corning but nwroller wanted to be home in dc. by 2 so we exceded the speed limit by a couple over and i was home in 3 and 1/2 hours.
the restaurants were great at getting our group in and serving us, no complaints there.
craig glad you almost made it the whole way home before getting dumped on, it was great spending the weekend with you.
and please, nobody bring donuts on next years ride.
