Hi guy's, does anybody know what size the alternator bearings are, I think mine might be due to be changed. The bike is a 1998 CT. I'm not sure, the noise might just be the brushes but from the sound it might be the bearings, using a stethoscope . I would like to have the bearings on hand when I take it apart just in case. Thanks

I replaced the rear bearing at 52k miles, it was not smooth rotating, but didn't have any noise.

picked up at Napa, actually better bearing than oem.

I took a look at the bearings for the alternator, is it possible the rear bearing is selling for between 50 and 80 bucks, or am I looking at the wrong one, the front one is about 20$ or so.

I think there is a mixup somewhere with the price you are coming up with flash. Bearing sizes are international, if someone has a rear bearing, there should be a number on it which will cross to all manufacturers bearings that are the correct size, Japanese, Chinese and American.

Bearings are standard/generic sizes. The napa part # is also the standardized nomenclature.

Napa has massive markup on bearings. Get them from a reputable ebay seller or any number of online outlets. Napa wanted $30 for a skf wheel bearing, got them online for $7. Honda parts fiche usually gives the standard bearing nomenclature in addition to the Honda #. Or can always just measure id, od, and thickness and search to determine what the standard size is. Always in metric/mm. The - 2rs suffix refers to the type of seals/shields.

Sorry guy's my mistake, it's the front bearing that is expensive. If I'm looking for a good quality bearing they are not cheap.

it is other manufacturers also, that was just one article.  there are some articles out there how to identify a fake or real SKF bearing. I brought skf front wheel bearings off ebay but they were the real deal.
