For anyone interested we are going to be having the First Annual Dragon Weyr in Slade KY (Red River Gorge). The dates will be May 3 - 5 and the home base is the Lil Abner Motel (606-663-5384). The motel has 38 rooms, 10 suites (2 connected bedrooms, 1 bath) and a few cabins. We have a ride planned that is tentatively 125 miles & 3 1/2 hr riding time (planning 6 hrs with stops) ending at the Sandstone Restaurant in the Nature Bridge State Park at 4pm for their dinner buffet. The planned route is basically KSU 10am at the motel following hwys 15, 77, 715, 15, 191, 746, 460, 1010, 1812, 52, 2016, 716 & 11 to the restaurant. We have planned stops at NADA Tunnel, Skybridge, Broken Leg Falls, fuel/rest stop in Jackson (80 mile point) and end at the restaurant. There is plenty of great riding in the area so feel free to plan your own excursion & join us for dinner. There is a pavilion & fire-pit at the motel. If you come & are going to be joining us for the buffet PLEASE message me so I can coordinate with them to insure they have sufficient food & staff available, NO ONE likes a buffet that runs out of food! Also please inform me if you need to cancel for whatever reason so I can adjust our numbers for the restaurant. If weather turn inclement we can do a short ride around the Gorge which would only be about 25 miles but VERY scenic!
