Like many of you, I am trying to move my handlebars back just an inch or two. I Don't want to mess with changes to any cables. I did a search on past threads, and it was mentioned that some people were able to use  the 2 inch Rox Pivot Risers without having to get longer cables. Will these risers work on our bikes?? Isn't our speedo/tac in the way?? This unit does cover our handlebar mounts.  I am not trying to move the bars up, just back about an inch. Any advice would be appreciated!

Kidd- were you able to get your speedo/tac instrument unit back on over the new Risers without a problem or did you have to get longer mounting bolts for the instrument unit?

Anyone else have Rox 2 inch Risers?  I took the Speedo off to look at the bar clamps. The Speedo bracket mounts to the bottom set of bar clamps under the handlebars, and there is very little room between the Speedo unit and the top bar clamps. It just doesn't seem to be enough room to install higher risers in there. Why the hell Honda have to position the Speedo unit right on top of the handlebar clamps??  It is like they did not want anyone trying to modify this bike!

I have the 2in Risers and they worked well for up and back.   The Speedo unit did not mount back on (with screws).  I used Zip Ties to hold it down, but kept it a little loose as it sits on the top fine.  You can get an bent piece of steel to connect the Speedo head, but you need to find someone to make one (and someone did at one point) but it's not necessary.

Thanks PAVALKER. I knew there would be issues getting the Speedo unit back on. I Don't know any metal fabricators who could do this. Do your Zip-ties show?

No....  not unless you knew they were there and where to look.   They go thru the screw holes on the Dash panel underneath and then down to the original holes.

I don't even have the original risers on my bike... it doesn't take much to hold
that lightweight plastic speedo onto the bike, it is hooked on pretty solidly
just by the gnarly wire harness... on my bike, where it was held onto the
OEM risers, now it is held in place with these:

I installed the 2" Rox and then the 3 " Rox Risers.

Be advised that with the 3" risers no new longer cables are needed.

What is required is that you unhook the wires and cables from the top clip on the handle bars allowing for more slack to accommodate the 3" risers.

The zip ties work very well in holding the speedo unit.

Just a follow up: I installed the Rox 2 inch pivoting risers today. What a difference pulling the bars up a little and back  an inch or so makes.  Much more comfortable riding position makes. Install was fairly easy, except it was a little difficult to get to the bottom bolts to snug them up. Zip ties worked great to re-attach Speedo.  Thanks guys!

I know this is a bit dated,  But has anyone come up with a better work around for putting the speedo back on?  and for those that used zip ties have they held up? hate to be out in the sticks and have that thing bouncing around.........Thanks

When I first used the zip ties, I did not tighten them enough so the speedo went a little rooster-eyed. It did not "jump" around though. Each year I cut off the old ones and put new ones on- as tight as I can get them- no problems.

Harbor Freight has stainless steel zip ties.  I purchased some but have yet to use them so I can't vouch for their durability.   But they may work better for you than the plastic ones.
