How would one go about posting a doc online? Like we do for pictures.

Or do I need to change it into a picture and post it in my postimage account?

My ISP used to have storage I could do this from, but I no longer seem to have access.

Do you mean, like, a microsoft .DOC file? You want to post it here?

I'm just waving my hands here, but you could upload it to some place,
maybe postimage, certainly the google sites place I use, and at
the very least put its URL in a VRCC post, and people could
click on it... putting img tags around it wouldn't do right, it wouldn't
show up...

Some ideas here.

http://www.iorgsoft.com/PDF/post-pdf-to-discussion-forum.html

I'd probably just copy/paste, unless the document is massive with lots of images.  In that case you could link to it.

Yes, it is a MS .Doc file. Multiple page doc for our Valhalla Rally next month, with information, routes, plans and the like.

Doc files won't UL to the img posting site. Didn't try a PDF yet. Someone suggested taking pictures of it, one page at a time. Then just post the link to the online site.

I'm not trying to have it show on the forum, but figure you'd DL and read it at home, and make you plans.

I found a means. After searching and discarding some options, Google has one. Their Document portion.

Since I already have a Google account, I just had to follow the instructions on how-to, and I did get it done.

Here is the link.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jXzMsmKJyCsPyf6M0JduceY0Fq7aPqPm/view?usp=sharing

I did convert it to a PDF, so it couldn't be altered. I tried the link from within my post, and the file opened up. So others can now see our information packet for our annual Valhalla Rally next month. (rooms are still on hold till Jun 1 at our special rate)

Your PDF works.  I am assuming hotel prices do not include taxes, etc.?

I've just started negotiations for my release.

Did you make any GPX files (for loading into Garmins etc) of those rides?  I'm playing with a new (to me) mapping handler; I can see if it will support that, if not.

GR...room rates do not include tax, however they do include breakfast for our group. Would be great if you could join us and bring an Alberta flavour back to the event, something we've been missing for the past couple of years.

No file, sorry, no one that I know has a GPS that takes files in. Always wanted one, but too costly for me. I almost don't have a problem navigating from memory. In BC, I find signage works well enough out in the sticks. I have a GPS that goes on the bike for long trips in unknown areas. Figure I could us it if I get lost, to get back on track.

Pops the destination into Google Maps....

...2200 miles... each way...

*Wistful sigh*

All outta vacation time.... But so tempting... Afraid if I made it that far I'd just keep on boogey'ing to Alaska though...

Ya'll have fun, share pics!

That's great! Glad to hear. To bad Beardo had to bow out, but graduation (I think that was what it was) comes first. It could have made a nice ride together from Calgary. (ps: my wife/sister/parents are heading to the Stampede weekend. I couldn't get the time off)

Now that would be a nice ride, I missed it a few years back with a bunch of my GW riders. Last year, my wife was busy during our Canada Day (July 1) long weekend, and I was going to drive up north 3-4 days, and then come back. See how far I could make it to Alaska.
