Hello forum, I'm looking to upgrade my seat from the Corbin. I'm looking at the Daylong and the Ultimate seats, which seem to be the top two picks for our bikes...

Would like to hear the opinions of some riders, especially those with BBT Forward controls, since I think it really changes how your butt sits on the seat with forward controls.

I like the idea of Russell building their seat on top of your stock  Smiley, though I also think the largest Ultimate seat might be better since it positions you a few inches back and farther from the handlebars, which sound like it would be ideal for Forward controls.

OPINIONS PLEASE  Grin

Daylong are ugly but usually reported to be the most comfortable on a long ride. The ultimate seats look great and I can ride all day in comfort just fine.

I think the Ultimate seat is a tad less expensive but that doesn’t mean they are cheap

I wouldn't get a Daylong seat built on a OEM seat base if I could
help it, you can't have a solo Daylong seat + a backrest.

I have a Daylong seat on my 1800 Valkyrie and a Utopia backrest
built into my pillion seat... it is awesome in every way except that
I must retain that silly little pillion seat.

I have an Ultimate seat on my 1500 Valkyrie... when it needs it,
I'll send that seat base to Daylong and have my cake and eat it
too... the Ultimate seat has a built in backrest...

If you care about a backrest, you could investigate getting Daylong
to build you a seat on your Corbin pan...

-Mike "I asked, they'll do it, even on non-OEM seat pans..."

I hear a lot of people say russell’s are ugly. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There is no comparison for me as to comfort.  Smiley

Looks pretty cool to me!

I already asked about the corbin seat build-on, they said no. I would have to get a stock honda seat to build one on..

I have an Ultimate BigBoy on Deerslayer and a Russell on Jade.  Both have BBT fwd controls.  Both have driver and pass. backrests.  The points above are valid on the backrest discussion.  However since I have pass. pillion on both, the backrest mounting to the pillion for the Russell is no issue for me.  The Russell is head and shoulders above the Ultimate for long distance comfort.  However the Ultimate might be described as better looking - don't care on that long as my butt is happy.  I have done Iron Butts on both many times - my butt likes the Russell better.  It also cost more but they are both spendy.

The Ultimate took months to break in.  The Russell - no, was great from the first day.

The height and reach are no issue with both since I fitted the highway pegs to match my legs on each seat.  Also the risers - length to the bars.  Both bikes are more comfy than my wing.

I have had other seats on both, before - OEM, Mustang, Rood saddle mod.  Both of the current seats are better except the Rood was close.

BTW I also have a Corbin Gunfighter on George - in fact two of them, in black and ostrich tan.  Nice looking but no comparison to the other 2 on comfort.

I too have an Ultimate on two bikes and the Daylong on one bike. The Daylong is head and shoulders above the Ultimate and I know just switch it to whichever bike I'm riding.
