My low beam just went out last night and I had been running the Silver Star in my Standard. Thought I'd check if there were any new discovery recommendations without mods out there?

Thanks.

If you don’t mind ordering something try an LED bulb.
Should be an able to find them at SoCal is the name of company.
Got some there for my F6B and they are great.
But ya the 9003 is the one.

Gary, I’ve been running a NAPA headlight bulb. It’s 100/90 watt H4. Technically it’s for off-road, but it’s never bothered any drivers coming at me.

Those higher wattage off road H4s can go in interstates (with dual relays) with no mods (heavier wiring or sockets).  The fairings breath freely in there.  I run Hella 80-100s in both interstates.

But not in Std/tourers without improved wiring (and maybe a socket).  The std/tourer headlight bucket contains a lot of wiring, and heat can be an issue.  At least that's what I've read/heard.

I have it in my Standard, not my Interstate. I think I have the 60/55’s in my I/S. The standard has about 30k using them with no issues. I did pick up one of those porcelain connectors to put in, but I haven’t as of yet. It probably would be a good idea to use a relay to save the starter switch though.
