the best way to cross the bridge the first time is at 75+mph.

About 6 years ago they installed phones across the bridge with direct connections to suicide prevent hot lines to cut down on the jumpers. Not sure if they stole them all yet or not.

Cheryl and I rode the trusty Shadow there years ago.   It is definitely a beautiful area with good riding and lots to see and do.   Strangely enough,  I like old cemeteries.   There's the Kit Carson Memorial Cemetery that is a good history lesson,

but I really enjoyed the Native Cemetery there.   They don't allow traipsing around on the burial grounds, but it is very beautiful in its way.   There is also a renovated old church on the site that is worth checking out.

Oh yeah.   Authentic New Mexican is some of the most lip smacking Southwestern food you'll ever eat!

Wish I was going this year.

Have you ever noticed when you're feeling really good,
there's always a pigeon that'll come sh!t on your hood?

For me Colorado has been the preview to Taos...

I rode with Britman for a day through The South...

I pounded down I40 with the cool kids for a day... no pictures...

I stayed one night in Durango with Wimp and Margie and we
went up the Million Dollar highway the next day to Montrose and stayed
there a night... we rode in their van to peer into the black canyon of the gunnison...
stuff is BIG out here... I rode the Million Dollar highway a lot faster than van-speed, but
they beat me to Montrose because I stopped a while at Box Canyon Falls...

Here's Joe's picture of Box Canyon, I didn't take any...

The rest of the time:

We'll all be at Taos on Sunday... I splurged for Saturday night - Goulding's Lodge in
the middle of Monument Valley... I look forward to that - 6 1/2 hours from there to
Taos mostly on hwy 64, the same US-64 that goes all the way to North Carolina
I think...
