Ron, Sam, Kara (Sam's daughter-not sure of spelling) and I met up in Safford, Az. for a ride up Devil's Highway, 191.  The ride was nice with lots of curves, cool temps and great views.  We spent Saturday evening in Gallop, NM. with dinner at the historic El Rancho Motel.  Sunday, we picked up a road north of 40 and traveled across the reservation, going east, thru Cuba, into Taos, NM.  Monday morning, Donna (she drove her car up 40) and I just wandered around checking out the all bikes and vendors.  Monday afternoon, Donna and I rode over to The Pueblo, a historic Indian village that is still active.  I was hoping for more of a display of Indian life, but it was mostly Indians selling jewelry, rugs, baskets and pottery.  Tuesday, Donna, Ron and I joined the Fallen Riders Memorial Ride, which was held at a Vietnam Veterans Memorial.  At the Tuesday evening raffle, Donna won 2 sets of metal valve stems and a $50 gift certificate for one of the local restaurants, so Sandy, Donna, and I had dinner together.  Wednesday morning, we hung around for the bike games.  I tried to talk Donna into doing the "Weenie Bite", but she wouldn't go for it.  Wednesday afternoon Donna and I joined Sam for lunch, the we went out to the Rio Grande Gorge for a "look see" and then stopped at the Home of Kit Carson and Museum.  Wednesday night, the famous pie auction!  We won more than our fair share of sugar.  We had cherry pie and then sopapia cheese cake, plus we topped off with chocolate covered strawberry's  We tried for the key lime pie, but it went for $460.  Thursday, Donna actually agreed to go for a real ride with me.  We went northwest up into Colorado and back south along 17 which follows a narrow gauge railway.  We missed the train but got to stop at 3 different train stations along the way.  We got to see a black bear and several deer, buffalo,  and elk.  Thursday evening dinner, awards, and raffle was a lot of fun.  This was my 7th Inzane and it felt like a family reunion.
Friday morning , with Inzane over, Ron and I rode north going thru Durango, over the Million Dollar Highway, with a stop in Silverton and then on into Ouray.  The scenery just kept getting better and better.  Saturday morning we followed the Dolores River north up 141 thru a canyon with a stop at the Gateway Auto Muesum.  Saturday afternoon was along Black Canyon into Gunnison with more scenery overload.  We got caught in rain for the last 10 miles of the day.  Sunday we went south again, along 149 over Spring Creek Pass and west on 160 over Wolf Creek Pass.  I can't wait to do that as a Fall Colors Ride.  We detoured up Mesa Verde with tremendous views and incredible Indian ruins. We spent the night in Cortez, and had really good Chinese food for dinner.  Monday, we are headed home.  We took the scenic route of course. Ron led us over a "sky Island" and to Canyon De Chelly.  That is an incredible place.  I always wanted to go there.  I will go back.  We stayed together down thru Holbrook and into Payson, where we parted ways.  Eleven days on the road with no problems.  We traveled a little over 2,000 miles.  I was great seeing some of my Valkyrie brothers and sisters again.  I missed seeing any of the So-Cal group

John, I'm glad you all had a good time at Inzane and the ride home.

I ended up renting a car, driving home on Thursday to get my trailer, then driving back to Durango, picking up the Spyder and home again on Friday. I got the report today that there's over $3K in damages with a possibility of more if the main harness replacement does solve all my electrical gremlins.

Life's adventures continue.

I thought I would added a few pictures from the trip. I took 318 pictures total. Thanks John for the great company and a great time. Looking forward to finding out where Inzane will be next year?

Yes it did Dave. Looks like the impact damaged the sonic welds in the main harness. BRP has recommended that the harness be replaced, then retest the system to determine if there are any other problems. Kudos to my insurer, Geico, they're paying the repairs and any subsequent damages.

Thanks George

Next year John and I are going to trade in our bikes for one of these. I heard they are very reliable, but they can be a pain in the a$$.  Smiley

Great pictures Ron, thanks for sharing. Man I hated missing that ride! George I'm glad the Geico is helping you with your bike. That's the same insurance I carry as well.
