Far North Chicago Burbs'

« on: June 23, 2019, 02:42:48 PM »

.....my 2014 Valk is nearing about 14k on the odometer. This things just keeps getting better... I switched to full synth oil (Lucas Oil 10w30..amazing stuff) bout' 2000mi. I am wondering if this slowed the break in process down? It just is getting even smoother and faster...I mean it screams now...(no ethanol, reg octane..huge) I ALSO noted how the exhaust note is just getting not only louder... but deeper and more aggressive sounding. By all means..KEEP the stock pipes on! I luv the way this bike sounds!

Hey Paul,      I have just under 30,000 on mine now, so what you are feeling and hearing is just beginning. It gets better and better. I know there are others out there with many more miles than I have on mine.  All this talk and complaining about the seat, the bars, the exhaust is just that talk. everyone wants to make the bike their own and unique, other than a windshield, bags and a (sissy bar) the bike is the best... Yes I do add a seat pad for those long trip rides but at my age 300 miles a day is very doable. I dont need to become an IRON BUTT member and like to enjoy the ride, not see how far I can go in any one day.   keep on trucking life is good ride on......

ya just for the record.  I run full synthetic 10w 30. change it every 5 to 6000. have not changed the plugs, or the  coolant yet. had the battery tested, it is fine. When it sits for the winter I start it every month, and run it to temperature, an roll it alittle so no flat spot on the tires, thats it... as I have said before I love this bike and know it will be rolling many miles after i no longer can, my son has already put in his claim for when i want to stop. and that is not for quite some time yet.
