Hi guys,

at the German VRCC forum we used to do a little introduction, so I thought I do the same here.
I have met some of you in Merritt last weekend , but maybe not all of you, so I thought I just do the same here...

I am Christian, one of the younger Valk riders, 38 years young... and it all began when I got my motorcycle driver's license in November 1998. As a new rider I was only allowed a motorcycle with 34hps for the first 2 years. I got a Suzuki VX800 from my uncle and was the happiest guy in the world. Until a couple of months later my dad got his license and his new bike: a 1998 blue and créme Valkyrie. I fell in love immediately but wasn't allowed to ride it until the year 2000. Damn!!!! Then, finally, the spring 2001 came and he handed me the keys to his motorcycle... and I got hooked immediately!

Here's a pic of my first big ride with 2 friends in the Alps...

After that I had the pleasure to ride many parts of Europe:

Col de la Bonette, France. One of the highest alpine roads in Europe

Croatia

Italy

Close to L'Aquila (before it got destroyed in the earthquake)

The volcano Vesuvio in Naples

Due to visa problems I spent 6 months in Germany again and found my dream bike online.
A 1999 black Interstate that was converters to a Tourer. Low kilometres on it and the bike was imported to Germany and completely rebuilt. And the German soccer team won the world Cup this year so I just had to....

I went to visit a friend in Switzerland and his neighbourhood had a lot of Brazilian guys living there. When we were walking home from a bar I saw a fire.... they put my flag on fire and we just came in time to save everything. That was quite a shock!

The Wurmlinger chapel close to Tübingen

Castle Hohenzollern in the background

Ride to the VRCC meeting in Italy with my dad

And then in 2018, Valerie finally made it to Canada. The shipping company didn't know how to secure a bike, so she arrived scratched, but that was all repainted now.

Since Valerie got to Canada she got the Cobra 6 in 6 pipes, we went to the Darkside and put a car tire on and recently she got new LED headlights as well.

A Valkyrie was involved for 50% in my life now and I am riding one for 18 years now, and I guess it will be the only bike I will ever need in my life! I always was just the rider and never looked into the technical details (stupid me), which has now changed since Valerie came to Canada. So maybe there will come up some questions about technical stuff from my side, please be patient with me.

It was great seeing you all last week in Merritt and I am looking forward to meeting the rest of you all in the future. I hope you liked this little introduction and it made you want to jump on your bikes and go for a ride ;-)

Cheers,

Christian

Thanks Christian for the introductions, I didn't have time to meet up personally when you arrived at Valhalla Sat night, but am looking forward to future meet ups.

Looks like you've had some nice rides over in Europe, I''ll most likely never get over there, and never with a bike. But they can be rented I hear...
