Or to be clear the Yamaha's rider. Riding up 321 toward Lenoir today when a 1900 Yamaha cruiser passed me. Nice bike and sounded good too. We got stopped at a light at Wally world. I stopped about a bike length short of him. He looked over and I waved not to be returned. Had a feeling he was going to try and smoke the old Honda. Sure enough when the light changed he nailed it. Wasn't looking at the tach but I must have hit the rev limiter in 2nd gear because it just stopped pulling until quickly going to 3rd then back to normal. Kinda surprised me as I have never been to the rev limiter before. Got a couple lengths ahead of him and let out before going over the speed limit. I know it's not the fastest but she still holds her own after 20 years.

There's always someone faster. Fat Girls may have been the fastest at one time but...…… That's OK by me, I don't ride a Valkyrie to race her. Rams

I got spanked a few times, but no kissing and telling..... Seriously, I think 2-3 times at a light I got blown away but not too badly left behind, both no big cruisers but more much lighter and newer hybrid bikes did not know what they were just by looking over at them.

My 2 daily riders could win a comfort competition. Likely spank many V-twins in a drag race. But I don't care if they don't. I can - and have many times - ride Iron Butts and not be sore at the end. That's nothing to sneeze at considering these creaky old bones require plenty of comfort. Besides - "George" (Blown red bobber below) can spank most anything but the big crotch rockets if that needs to be done.

You got lucky with the Yamaha. Warning: Don't put her up against an F6B, you won't come out on top. Unless of course the F6B rider does not know what he or she, is doing.

I don't own a Valkyrie just to race. But if someone tries to take off faster I can't help myself and have to see how my bike compares. If Mr Yamaha took off normal I would have also. But when he took off like John Force I waited until going to second gear then nailed it. I don't consider it luck because the 1900 shows 98.6 horsepower on specs off the internet. If the same situation with a F6B happens I will still do the same thing. And if the F6B didn't smoke me I would be surprised. I know the old Valk's were never the fastest But fast enough for me. If I get outrun I will still be happy and smile. I just posted the experience because I like reading stuff like that myself. And taking a wild guess I can't be the only one that would do the same thing. If my post is politically incorrect for riding etiquette I sincerely apologize. To Quote Waylon Jennings I've always been crazy but it's kept me from going insane.

A friend of mine rides an F6B. In a drag race he can beat me sometimes but he can't spank me. Riding in the twisties is a different story, I can keep him in sight but I can't stay right with him. He hates it when I ride the ST1300 though.
