He was a good one. I worked for the company he founded, and the company it's morphed into, for the last 20+ years.

Saw him speak on campus a few times, specifically about the Iran rescue mission. Not many CEO's would put together a private army to rescue their employees anymore.

Another friend of mine worked at another of his companies, his first week on the job he got a lunch invitation directly from Ross. They ate lunch in the company cafeteria, Ross asked him about the hiring and on-boarding process, how he liked it so far, areas of improvement, etc. Evidently his policy was to sit down and have lunch with every single new hire within a week of them starting.

Different friend was eating lunch at a local Furr's cafeteria, when Ross walks in and eats his lunch. Nothing fancy, not above us normal folk.

There are a lot of things that he and his company do for veterans that is never publicized.  We work at these events and his love of country and respect for those who serve was unquestioned.  A great loss for America.

I worked his phone bank here in Dallas in 1992 and 1996 for his presidential runs...it was sabotaged..pig headed guy..he wrote about an internal compass that was always right--he would make an instant decision on a topic and under no circumstance would he change his mind--the threats to his family/daughter were pretty callous....great man

Despite whatever good he did Ross Perot's legacy is his enablement of the election of WJC who enabled the election of BHO and with President Obama promoted the political growth of HRC.

Ross Perot may well have loved his country but he loved himself more.  He sacrificed the welfare of his country on the alter of his worship of himself.

I never heard that he rode a Valkyrie or was otherwise associated with the VRCC.  Wink

Well his kids sure said a lot of good about him. They sure did not have to do that with him gone.
I remember when he said "hear that gigantic sucking sound? That is our jobs leaving the country after NAFTA".  He was partially right there

It seems to me that is the case with ALL of our elected officials these days. (Well, maybe only 98.2 % of them)

That's certainly one way to view him.   I think in this case, we'll just have to agree to disagree on what he stood for.  Though, I do admit his run for President did as an end result help WJC get into the White House for his first term.   Who's to blame for WJC's second term?

George Bush's "Read my lips, no new taxes" was the reason he lost his bid for a second term.
Ross did what he could for an American prisoner of war hero's wife while she waited stateside for his return to freedom from Viet Nam. He did this because he was a patriot, and he showed his love for  his country till the day he died. RIP

He was a great man and I voted for him.

Didn't make a snot of difference in my left state, but it felt good.
