Greeting to all.  Just discovered a nail in rear tire, very slow leak but will need fixing. Time to try the dark side 195/65-16.  What do you guys think of the tire linked below ??  It shouldn’t rub anywhere nor alter the rpm !?!?  Any opinions suggestions ??      Thank-you

You could plug it with a "Stop-n-Go" tire plugging kit. I ran one of their plugs in my wing for over 2500 miles before wearing the tire out.

Like Wilbur and Orville, or Steven ?  Smiley I ran an Achilles Platinum, it was good. I think it was 60 series though. I’m running a Radar 195/65 now. You won’t have any rubbing, rpm issues. (Sorry about the spelling joke)

I use this one.

It has a more rounded shoulder than the tire in your link.

Looks awfully square to me. Not M/C friendly in my opinion

A 195/65 profile is almost identical to the stock size MC tire profile (maybe a couple mm taller). Your highway RPM should be pretty similar. The 175/80 profile Austone was about 14mm taller profile, which translated into about a 300rpm drop on the highway and a slight mpg boost.

195/75 tires are available (lots of choices, it's the size VW camper vans use apparently), but these are considerably taller, another 5-6mm more profile than the (formerly) popular Austone. Some people report rubbing issues with the Austone particularly with 2 up riding or using aftermarket/shorter shocks, so I suspect a 195/75 would only be worse in that regard and too tall to really recommend. Personally I have no rub marks from my Austone, but I ride solo almost exclusively, oem shocks, on the firmest setting.

I've searched around quite a bit and am really shocked I haven't been able to find ANYTHING in the 175/80 size being sold in the US. That's the size the London Black Cabs take, look at a Euro based website and there's dozens of choices in that size that are cheap as hell (the Austone that sold for $200 here goes for about $45 equivalent in the UK) but it's unobtanium apparently this side of the pond.

This is the closest I've found, a 175/75-16. Same narrower 175 width as the Austone, but a smidge shorter. Still a bit taller than the stock MC tire, it'll probably reduce RPM by more like 150 instead of 300 at freeway speed. But the narrower width is what is of more interest to me.

I have been thinking of the same tire for when I need one. Found it here: https://www.simpletire.com/otani-p195-65r16-s181v-tires

BTW, you weren't on Riderforums, or the zr7 forum that it was previously, were you? There was someone there with the same forum handle years ago. I imagine that berto has been used by more than 1 person online, but thought I'd ask.

I just ordered a Yokohama Avid Envigor 205/60R16 to replace my General Tire Altimax HP (now discontinued) of the same size.  The V-rated tire was only a buck or two more the H-rated tire, so I went with that, assuming the construction will be just a little more sturdy, not that I would go V-rated speeds.

This light truck tire

https://www.prioritytire.com/zeetex-ct1000-lt-195-65r16-104-102t-d-8-ply-at-a-t-all-terrain-tire/

behaves very well for me at 42 psi.
