  On a cruise ship , grandpa holds 18 month child out a window in the atrium. Child falls 11 floors to her death.  The cruise ship company is being sued for negligence .
  Why did they not let grandpa do a swanny out the window. How low can some people go.

Not quite the story I heard.
A few things.

This was a hockey fan family. This will come into play.
They were on a deck where the outer wall was glass panels.
There was one panel missing and, as I understand it, it was roped off.
The panels were similar in appearance as to  what you would see at a hockey rink
The child was known to watch hockey through the glass. There is a photo out there with the child against the glass.
The child ran up to the missing panel area and apparently thought there was a panel there.
The Grandfather could not reach the child in time.

 I heard the story and also read it. We have been on several cruises and if there was an issue on board, they were on it. I guess the cameras will tell the truth.  I reread the newspaper and it was as I posted.

It was initially reported that way on tv as I heard it the day it happened. We all know now that in the rush to be first facts really get lost.
