The guitar solo on Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” was performed by Eddie Van Halen!

From https://www.cnn.com/2012/11/30/showbiz/music/van-halen-jackson-thriller/index.html:

“I'll never forget when Tower Records was still open over here in Sherman Oaks. I was buying something, and "Beat It" was playing over the store sound system. The solo comes on, and I hear these kids in front of me going, "Listen to this guy trying to sound like Eddie Van Halen." I tapped him on the shoulder and said, "That IS me!" That was hilarious.”

I learned a little Trivia myself today. Have a cigar, by Pink Floyd, was not song by Roger Waters or David Gilmore. Neither one thought they could sing it well, so a vocalist next door at Abbey studios named Roy  Harper came in and gave it a shot. Yup, he is the voice of the song.

I also learned something the other day....the Carlos Santana song " Black Magic Woman" and the Judas Priest song " Green Manalishi" were both written and preformed by Fleetwood Mac .
I defiantly thought both songs were by the Santana and Priest .....learn something new every day

I also learned something today...

"Let The Bodies Hit The Floor" by Drowning Pool and "It's Raining Men" by The Weather Girls are both describing the same event, just from different viewpoints.

I heard some trivia on XM the other day.
The song American Woman by the Guess Who is about the statue of Liberty/America.

This basically refers to the time of the cold and Vietnam wars when America tried to get Canada to adapt nuclear missles and join. When the singer refers to the American Woman, it is America.

"Don't com hangin' around my door
I don't wanna see your face nomore
I got more important things to do
then spendin my time growin old with you"

This is basically saying that Canada has its own troubles that they have to deal with and they don't need to get into some wars over opinion with the US

"I don't need your war machine" - nuclear weapons

"I don't need your ghetto scenes" - the after math of the explosives

"colored lights can hypnotize" - explosions of the bombs

"sparkle someone esle's eyes" - basically piss off and bother someone else lol
