Gransdson and I took a ride along the Fox River that runs through Green Bay. Gave me a chance to stretch the Phat Lady's legs a bit...mine too! Beautiful day, temp was about 82 with a breeze and little humidity. Wasn't a real long ride, only an hour tops, but gave me a chance to get familiar with the immediate area, something I feel might be in my future. Also gave me a chance to gawk at the summer home mansions along the riverside. Some folks sure are loaded with the bucks, I couldn't afford the steel gates leading into some of the properties....maybe one of the lights on either side.

If you've been watching the weather up here, we dodged a bullet at their campground. Granddaughter and I were putting stuff away in the storage shed behind their camper when the horizontal rain and wind suddenly started. At one point I could hear the loud roar and moan characteristic of a twister, although fastened down the shed started to lift. Turned out there were straight level winds of near 100mph in the area along with 4 confirmed twisters....one being an F0 size meaning 65-85mph winds. It did touch down across the pond in back of the camper, about 150 yds. away and twisted the tops of a bunch of trees right off. Some worrisome moments indeed. When it died down we hit the road and were running over 80mph to stay ahead of the storm while heading back to Green Bay. A number of counties in that area were designated disaster areas. The other twisters were all F1 in size, given a choice I'll do without....thank you very much.
