I’ve been following Dustin Moody on Facebook and he is developing a fuel injection package for the Valkyrie to market commercially. Dustin is the owner and developer of the only custom turbo charged Valkyrie that I know of.  He already has a fi package for another bike so he is pretty well versed in the technology. If I remember correctly his day job is a diesel mechanic. It will be interesting to see how this goes.

May the Force be with him!   This would be a very big deal for us.

I think he built the turbo bike for a client. I don’t think he owns it. I hope he posts his progress with the FI on here.

It would be a really nice improvement ..... if it doesn't cost half to two thirds the value of our bikes.

I was just thinking, I hope he proves me wrong, but my concern would be that it will end up costing half the price of a already fuel injected 2014 Valk... But one can hope...

Would think money would not be the driving factor for a lot to make the change.  Bike's aren't worth much money but they can't be replaced to a lot of their riders.  Getting fuel injected modified would make a big difference.  I'd be interested.

If it is sorted out enough to run at least as well as carbs, maybe increase the MPG, and if the price was right - maybe.

carburetor venturi atomizes the air/fuel mixture better than an injector can.
Valkyrie's get poor mpg due to the cheap terrible ignition system honda provided. The engine needs much more ignition advance during part throttle hwy operation. this is the same requirement for carbs or injectors.
C5 ignitions http://www.c5ignitions.com/ was doing beta testing for their awesome system for our engines, until one the only beta tester a valkyrie owner ran off with the prototype, changed address and phone #s and all other contact info. This was about two yrs ago, C5 has never put their energy back into GL1500 engines.   a few months ago there were hints he might start on the GL1500 again. I think he is waiting for more interest.

That is definately something I would need assistance with installing. Probably the fuel injectors as well.

I wonder if it's a throttle body type. A single unit feeding the 6 intakes would need an additional manifold or a redesigned manifold to replace the 6 intakes we have now.

He has already sourced the brain that will run the system which was less than $500.00 if I remember correctly. He is making a gig to mill our intakes to accept the injectors. The Attic Rat is familiar with his guy and has expressed interest in his project. I think it’s going to happen but the cost will be a factor for us because as a group we are don’t spend money on our rides like the Harley guys.

I have no idea if he has any plans or thoughts on the ignition system or if the brain he’s thinking about using could control that too, but I doubt it.

SpidyJ, it’s direct port injection into stock manifolds that have been modified to accept the injectors!

I went back and checked a recent post and Dustin said the system he has developed and sells for the Kawasaki ZX sells for $1500.00 and he expects the Valkyrie to be no more and possibly less.

Copied this post by Bob off Dustin’s post just for everyone’s info.

Bob Smith Dustin is a good friend of mine and lives close to me
I have seen his fuel injection system on several bikes
We have talked about the Valkyrie several times when he was injecting his turbo Valkyrie
He is now working on a newer verision for the Valkyrie which I am very interested in
His fuel injection package maybe something that I can offer in addition to the GLH package when he gets it all worked
