Watched it last night. Young guy gets diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. On the way home from the doctor, he comes across an old man with an old Norton for sale. He convinced him to take it for a ride and he buys it on the spot. Decides before he starts a long, painful, and possibly pointless treatment, he’s going to head off on the bike for a couple days. Ends up riding all the way across Canada.
Made me smile because what he does with possibly one of his last weeks, we get to do every year. Made me smile because I’ve been on almost every one of the roads he took with the same “nowhere in particular” destination in mind.
We’ve all had those trips where there is no destination and you just keep going, whether it’s to get away from work, contemplate life, or just get away and enjoy the road before a long cold winter sets in, literally or metaphorically. We don’t know when we’re going to get that news, as too many on here have lately. We’re so fortunate to be blessed with however many “One Weeks” we have had already and are hopefully yet to come.
Check out the movie if you can
