We got back this afternoon from a great ride around the White Mountains. We road up to North Conway on Thursday and stayed Thursday and Friday nights. Fantastic weather all three days. We only got wet about nine miles from home today in a passing downpour.

On our way up on Wednesday we stopped at the two overlooks on the west end of the Kancamagus.

We then headed back to 93 north to Route 3 north to 302 east to North Conway. I love that ride because all the great views of the Presidential Range. We made a pit stop at Crawford Notch to snap a few pics.

On Thursday we did a large loop round the Presidential Range with a side trip to Bethel Maine for lunch.

Nice place, good food and they had a parking spot that was perfect for us.

We had never ridden US Route 2 before. What a beautiful ride! On ride back eastbound on 2, we passed the spot in Randolph where the 7 bikers got killed by that idiot. There was a nice memorial set up with lots of flags and 7 crosses. Unfortunately we were going too fast to stop safely and pay our respects.

From 2 we picked up Route 3 south to 302 east back to North Conway. I know most of you guys have ridden Route 2. If you haven't, put it on your list between Gorham and Lancaster. Just beautiful!

Today we left North Conway about 9 and headed west on 302 to pick up 3 south to 93 S to Cannon Mountain. I love the view of Cannon southbound on 93. Stunning!

Stopped at Cannon for the aerial tram ride to the top. Walked along the Rim trail up to the Observation Tower. Some scary spots on the  Rim trail if you venture a little off the trail. A long way down. Took some pics from the Observation Tower.

Back on the road about noon for the long slog home. Just about 600 miles round trip. It was great!

Looking forward to Rich's ride tomorrow. Sherry's going to sit this one out.

 Cool

The Roadhouse was good. Not really a BBQ place, but good Pub Grub. There's a BBQ place less than a mile east. Sherry got a very good lobster salad plate. I had a fried chicken sandwich that was good. Pretty hard to screw that up. We ate upstairs in the bar area. Nice funky vibe there.   cooldude

Smokin' Good BBQ is the BBQ place east on Rt 2 Tony.....this is where I always eat when in the area.
