7 life sentenaces is too kind. We need to kill him 6 times, bring him back after each one, let him recover, then repeat, until we get to the 7th, where he stays dead.....

Rob, when hired, the employer checked on his license status, and because the RMV didn’t do their job, the query came back ok, and he was hired.
As far as equipment issues, yes the owner should be held accountable.

I thought I had read that the last incident, where he was arrested in Connecticut was during his employment ? I'm sure it's entirely possible they weren't aware of it, I'd like that to be looked in to. It seemed that company was doing everything on the cheap, including their hiring practices.

The company he worked for might as well file bankruptcy now. Because if there is any indication they did anything wrong there won't be anything left by the time the families get done...

From the article:  A person answering the phone at Westfield Transport, who did not identify himself, would only say the company no longer exists...

Rob, I believe he only worked for that now defunct company for 1 week. CT arrest happened before that.

Hip is good, walking a mile every morning, lots of pool time, and I actually pulled the bike out today, backed it down the driveway & rode it back up & into the garage. Small steps....

As a former C D L holder all I can say is at the scene they Should have drawn blood from the driver and he should have peed in the bottle. Far as the "company" goes the owner is most likely already operating again under a new authority put in some family members name. Some of these outfits must be beyond desperate for drivers if this dud got hired. When ever my company got ahold of me on the satellite or the cell phone and said stop here or there for a Mandatory drug screen I had NO Problem complying. Guys like this particular turd give Real Truckers a bad name. RIDE SAFE.

I'm pretty sure that was a different employer.
Mass. failed to revoke his CDL, as required.
So, when he applied at this job, there was no indication to the new employer that there was a problem!
Another govt failure to do their job.

Massachusetts must have really messed up.  I read that the director of the state's motor vehicle division has resigned over it.

Can criminal negligence be avoided like that? Thinkin the witch-I KNOW what I wrote ain't what I meant-but she should lose ALL her pension and other accrued benefits. AND pay fer her own barrister. HARSH you say-ask the families of those Riders and VETERANS we lost. RIDE SAFE.

No Dennis, not harsh, truth!
I hope she doesn’t avoid criminal charges.
Here in Massachusettsistan, that’s how things work. If convicted while still employed, you lose your pension. If you “retire” before you’re convicted, you generally keep your pension.
Sure ain’t right, but that’s how the state does it.
Hopefully because this case is so front page she hangs every way possible.
